pretty lame for a jumpscare lol
ОтветитьThe jumpscare legitimately terrifies me with the exact same things the character feels, I fear having a heartattack when I watch it. I close my eyes until the bum goes away.
I can't remember the term but there is a hyperstition about images or information so dangerous that it could kill someone, this scene is a masterpiece example of it.
I first saw this film while tripping on mushrooms. This scene was unnerving.
ОтветитьDavid Lynch is a genius. I love him! Love his soul and LOVE LOVE LOVE TWIN PEAKS!
ОтветитьWonderful video and explanation, love learning the "science" for lack of a better word behind jump scares and much like everyone else here, I did indeed get the jump scare even knowing what was coming and I've seen Mulholland more times than I can count on both hands 😂😅😅👌🏽
ОтветитьThe first time I watched this scene I could not breathe. It was breathtaking in a horrifying way.
ОтветитьI got really high and watched it follows for the first time. The tall guy jump scare haunted me for days afterwards
ОтветитьBRILLIANT analysis
ОтветитьThe most terrifying jump scare I have seen is from The Brood. It was so terrifying to me because it was identical to a repetitive nightmare I had as a child. You can see the back of two kids and when they turn around casually their faces are deformed. Then they kill a woman with an ice pick. I think most people thought the twist was obvious but I had the same reaction as the guy in mullholland drive. All the blood went out of my head and I was out. Those are the most amazing moments in horror films. When they are your nightmares.
ОтветитьNone of the jumpscares shown here were good wtf
ОтветитьIdk but I bursted out laughing when the “man” popped up
ОтветитьPrestige was awesome
ОтветитьThis film probably rivals Exorcist 3 as having the best jumpscare of all time.
ОтветитьI expected a mention of the jumpscare in Lynch's Fire Walk With Me, too, when possessed Laura goes down hard on poor Harold.
ОтветитьThe Mulholland drive scene had me actually peaking through my fingers to look at the screen
ОтветитьAm I the only one who didn't find the mulholland dr scene scary
ОтветитьFlinchy Lynchy
ОтветитьI watched this a few weeks ago and I knew about this, it was the one thing I knew about the movie, when the scene came up, I was prepared, but it was taking so long that I let my guard down, and then it happened, it terrified me. This and Inland Empire are the only jumpscares that stuck with me and I couldn't love them more, David is a genius.
ОтветитьBe honest, how many here were pinching their nipples when they saw this?
ОтветитьGreat work!
ОтветитьExorcist III had a couple of gems. Glad that scene made the cut
ОтветитьI thought that you gonna get me at the end with last “prestige” hahahah thanks for silent black ending.
ОтветитьYou're editing is friggin amazing.
ОтветитьAlso the pillow scene in Muholland Drive. Goddamn!
ОтветитьI thought i gotta get the prestige after the outro
ОтветитьTop 10 scariest thing I've seen in cinema. I was truly shocked the first time I saw this scene.
ОтветитьFun fact:The Homeless "Man" is the lady that played the Nun in..The Nun
ОтветитьIf you wanna see a scary movie check out Terrifier 2.
Ответитьthis fkn scene wasn’t scary at all, keep on sucking david’s d, this scene does work yes, but i mean it’s a technically well done build up to a jump scare, but it was not scary or whatsoever at all
ОтветитьThe loud sound metallic like sound effects that are so common in jump scares is what really annoys me, I love how Lynch approached it with a more subtle way
Ответитьcasi me muero ostia
ОтветитьThere’s so much more to film and what makes movies excellent, and alluring! ❤
ОтветитьWatching this at 1am is SUCH A GOOD IDEA ISN'T IT!?
ОтветитьI had to turn the video off after the first one.
ОтветитьGod Lynch is a fucking genius!!
ОтветитьAm I the only one NOT freaked out by this scene? I think the build up is nice but the payoff is a letdown, imo. Some chimney sweeping hippie chick popping around the corner doesn't quite scream life ending horror. Plus, the guy dropping to the ground immediately seemed a little over dramatic. Again, I know horror is subjective, but I feel like there are a lot better jump scares out there in movies.
Ответитьm8 you´re taking lynch exactly for what is not. is like if you struggle to tell the differences between a shark and an elephant, and arguing how the shark is a better fish than the elephant.
ОтветитьMulholland Drive is an amazing film that...I just don't fully get. I can accept that. Whatever does on in David Lynch's head is not something I can comprehend.
ОтветитьThis is the second most effective jump scare I have ever seen in a movie, the best one being the last scene of Denis Villeneuve's Enemy!
ОтветитьModern Horror Movies: *couldn't scare a mormon*
David Lynch: "I'm gonna tell you exactly how and when the jump scare is gonna happen and you're still gonna shit your pants."
i indeed flynched
ОтветитьI know it’s coming and it still gets me 😄
ОтветитьLately I've come to believe that the best jump scares aren't sudden. They broadcast themselves for a long time. They tell you, "I'm going to jump out and scare you in just a few minutes". Like this one.
I recently read a book -- not even horror -- where characters are talking badly about an evil character. Then they begin to wonder, what if he's outside listening right now? They discuss it for a bit, then they go to open the door, and yup, there he is just standing there. Until that moment, I never believed a book could pull off a jump scare, but I jumped.
