The only way into the world’s most exclusive club is to solve a challenge from the Demon of Reason. Can you get into the party?

--

Once a year, thousands of logicians descend into the desert for Learning Man. At the center of that gathering is the world’s most exclusive club, where under the full moon the annual logician’s rave takes place. The entry is guarded by the Demon of Reason, and the only way in is to solve one of his dastardly challenges. Can you get into the rave? Edwin Meyer shows how.

Okay, here's my solution without unpausing the video (you will have to trust me on this)

Since everyone must be able to figure out their color, there can't be any color that belongs to only one person, otherwise that person woiuld have no way to figure it out.

So those who see a color belonging to only one person must know that they are the other ones with that color. Thus they can enter on first bell. This is 2 pairs of people. (19 remains)

Next, if you see only two people wearing a color, you know they would have entered already unless you as a third person also had that same color. So all three of you can enter on second bell. Only one color got in, so that's 3 more people. (16 remains)

Similarly, if you see three masks of a color, you would go in on third bell. But nobody did. (16 remains)

Following the same logic, the people who entered on fourth bell were in groups of 5. With two colors entering that's 10 more people (6 remains).

Now the remaining six people know that all remaining colors must have at least 6 members. And since there's only 6 of them, they can all safely enter.

Thus my final anwser is 6.

Edit: oops, missed the "at least" in the last clue. Regardless, party time!

this still leaves you guessing at your own mask color.

"I see three people with blue masks, but they didn't jump in... AHA, I must be wearing a blue mask, and they're confused because there are four of us!"

Meanwhile, each person with a blue mask is thinking "Huh, I see two blue masks in this circle... I wonder what color I'm wearing... and why is that guy in the purple mask looking at me? Shouldn't he be looking at those two other purple masks?"

I am confused, how the first man knows he is yellow by seeing only one color, then third person will see that there are only 2 yellow, and he will admit that he is the 3rd yellow one, which he may be not.
The quantity of coloured masks should be known to solve this riddle.

I love how this puzzle clearly has a massive piece of information missing, except that there's a piece of information that there isn't any info missing, which itself then gives you what the missing piece of info must be.

Put a different way: If you weren't told that this was solvable, it wouldn't be solvable.

Step 1: confirm your mask is green
Step 2: ask the demon to enter

provided that english is not my first language and I read in the comments an explanation for the meaning of "logicians wearing at least two different colors" which is admittedly worded poorly, then I got there. So in case you're wondering, it means "at least two groups of logicians, one color of mask for each group"

That is logical as long as you assume that everyone is indeed smart enough to have the same realization and leave when they reach the same conclusion

The question was "Can you get into the rave?". So, my answer is yes.

“The demon put masks on their faces and forbade them from communicating in any way.”

So that’s who started the pandemic
