Excellent tutorial and teaching method.
ОтветитьAfter you suggested to use the interpolate function with multiple colors, like at min 2, i will use it for making the palette. Of course i will pick the color and set it in a rectangle. I know each line has its gradient Thanks
Ответить"Path Combine" Click the individual letters and "Path Combine." You are my hero, dude. Thank you, been going round and round with this one.
ОтветитьThanks so much for your videos im learning so much from you.
ОтветитьThanks for keeping the error in. It's always useful to find out what to do if something doesn't work perfectly first time.
ОтветитьHow to fixthe issues of "at least two paths need to be selected
ОтветитьHow would you apply this to a shape? I'm trying to combine your water color state map to text and make it 3D.. I can do the text, and I can get a basic shape to go 3D with interpolate, but I can't seem to get the map of Alaska to co operate... I get a dialog box saying that additional info was added and my results may not come out right.. But I get no results at all.. My map of alaska was done just like in the water color video, and saved as a template..... I closed inkscape, and re started it.. could it be I need to reset to default??.....
ОтветитьHey Rick, I love this effect. I know it's been a year since the vid but have a question, please? Can you use multiple colours, let's say, red white and blue. I tried but the closest I got was by having 3 layers selected as per your vid and colouring each differently then carrying out interpolate style, that's when things got funky..."just like the 60's all over again" any ideas or is this covered in another vid? Thanks again. love ya work!
ОтветитьYou know what? I love you! Hahaha! Thank you for this great tutorial!
Ответитьyou are sooo good
ОтветитьHi! I had problems with the interpolation, it seemed not to work, until I changed the values in "exponent"
ОтветитьThe newer versions of interpolate don't work at 0. You have to set it to 1.0
ОтветитьThanks Rick, fabulous videos.
ОтветитьI love this guy, he explains soooo good and he has a video for everything
Ответитьwhy mine is not working?
I already following the steps properly but its not working :(
Awesome!! Thank you so much. Other videos teach it very manually, exaustive.
ОтветитьThis helped me immensely!.. I was trying to do 3D text in GIMP, and the liquor store began giving me volume discounts... Inkscape is much easier for this... (3D text... not drinking).....
ОтветитьSuch a humble person ❤️
ОтветитьInstead of selecting each character after Object to Path, can’t you just ungroup and then select all by dragging a rectangle around it?
ОтветитьGreat method for generating a 3D effect. Thanks. I think instead of double clicking to isolate letters you could ungroup then do path union on all letters.
Ответитьomg omg i got this effect using the other new method you showed us. where can I send the how to so you can make a video. for us?
ОтветитьOne thing I've noticed when interpolate txt on a curved path, interpolation method should be 1
I have noticed it just after my 3rd rewatch on the video :) otherwise txt become broken
Спасибо, понятно все объяснили. У вас хороший канал, мне нравится ваш контент.
ОтветитьI got the solid when to many (150) for the size of font. changed to 100 worked. so fiddle with it. I too got the color problem. did as you did and reset it and it worked. maybe has to do with amount of gradual color change. will mess with it (because this is so much fun!) and try extreme color variants. Love your videos.
ОтветитьI love your videos. Please keep up the great work!
ОтветитьThanks for another great video. The problem I see with this method is the amount of nodes it produces. If you join the resultant into a single path and simplify it once, the number of nodes is more manageable for an old laptop like mine. You will lose the gradient effect, but you can do it manually afterwards. Sorry for the mistakes 👍
ОтветитьI think the order you select the objects in can effect the results of the interpolation not just the Z order.
Thank You for posting and Merry Christmas 2021!
Worked first time for me Rick. But appreciate you leaving it in the tutorial ,. always good to have a back up plan! Merry Christmas, Stay safe. 👍😎
ОтветитьNice one Rick. How many times have I tried to make a path-'intersection' or path or path-'difference' without breaking the text apart and then unionising it all or combining it all together. Big rookie mistake.. Thanks for your videos mate learning lots- keep up the good work- and again. Merry Christmas to you all. 👍🐺👍
