Piping basic - NPS, DN, Pipe Schedule

But how NPS is coming in between OD and ID?..take example of 1 1/2 inch pipe 40 schedule. Od =48.3 mm and ID : 41 mm NPS is 25.4*11/2=38.1 mm. So NPS size is less. For other size also like this. If schedule is more than 40 then its ok. So depend on Schedule..... Any clarification?

Sir agar NPS 3" hai to DN apke hisab se 25×3= 75 mm hoga, lekin asme ne to 80 mm hai ? Plz clear my concept
