I dont understand how you can do Rogue one so well and fuck up the main trilogy so bad...

You can shit on Disney all you want for their trillogy but Rogue One was also the best Star Wars movie out of the 10 in my opinion.

Rouge One's actions gave Mon Mothma the leverage she needed to overcome the other Rebel leaders to continue the fight and inspire the rest of the Rebellion to keep fighting

I just love so much the use of the New Hope footage to creat Gold and Red leaders

The funny thing is, from the Imperials' perspective this is a meticulously-planned and well-executed multi-stage operation. Probably prepared months in advance. But the Rebels are pretty much making it up as they go along.

Rogue One definitely wasn't perfect, but it was by far the best of the Disney Star Wars movies.

I wish Gareth Edwards could have done the entire sequel trilogy, even with the same basic characters. He'd have made it a thousand times better, and much more in the spirit of Star Wars. The sequel trilogy has a lot of amazing actors that we see in great series and films all the time, so it isn't the budget or the actors. Primarily it was the writing and the decisions of the directors. Look at how good Andor is, once you give it time. It is definitely a slow burn show, but once it gets going, it feels so real. They managed to update all the special effects and make everything more modern here, while also capturing the feel of the original series, and giving some really cool new planets, which are now being used in games such as Jedi: Survivor. If you could get a combo of the team behind the Jedi: Fallen Order/Survivor games and Gareth Edwards, along with a great composer, you'd have an amazing series. Unfortunately, Gareth Edwards didn't want to do anymore Star Wars movies. He wanted to do more original stuff.

Well, not unfortunately, because I like new ideas, but I wish he could have done more with Star Wars. Between him, Favreau, Filoni, and some of the other new directors and writers (Bryce Dallas Howard did two really great episodes of The Mandalorian, and they have a few other awesome directors as well), they could turn Star Wars around, and not turn it into a Star Wars MCU. I was born in 1974, and my first film in the theater was the re-release of Star Wars: A New Hope in theaters in May 1979 when I was five, and I've seen the original 1977 version a million times on VHS, because a friend had a copy, and this movie captured everything so well. Everything about it added depth to the Star Wars universe and new planets and ideas, and the only true Force user in the film was Vader at the very end.

One of my favorite star wars movies. Top 3 for sure.

Rogue one, the last great star wars movie.

Scariff was truly a declaration of war, before the rebels where all about subversion, hit and runs, saboteurs but Scariff no no, that was a fully fledge navy striking a military target openly with all they got. The rebellion when from dissidence to armed conflict, in one strike the rebellion was unified into action finally.

The ONLY movie worthy of Star Wars under Disney's reign of terror.

The Mon Calamaries are the true heroes of the rebellion
