Using Cine-V profile on the LUMIX GH5 to get CINEMATIC pictures!

I was hoping you were going to show more in depth sample footage.

Hi there,
I've also been using Cine V. Now, I notice you use film convert nitrate. I just downloaded the demo version of that, and whilst the panasonic GH5s camera pack is available so the footage can be best matched, the Cine V profile is not on the subsequent drop down menu. What do you choose from this secondary menu to match to Cine V? Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

Till now I have been struggling between Natural and Cine D even though I don't see much difference in dynamic range between the two. Cine D only adds to the work in post production. Never thought of Cine V. I just chanced upon your video and now I think I have an answer. I will try shooting in different settings on Cine V from -5 to 0 in each of my future projects to check the best for a quick turnaround.

Thanks Danny! I have a GH4 and a hacked GH2, but have yet to get a very satisfactory look for myself out of the GH4, and your video helps!! Would you say the skin tones are better on natural over cine v? And do you have to do a lot of post work for the skin tones to look right on cine v?

The Master Pedestal set to 15 and Luminance Level changed to 255... Be great if you can explain as I'm not sure what these does but fingers crossed :)

HI, Danny. I just bought my GH5 3 days ago and am starting to learn how to use it. I can't figure out how to combine autofocus with manual focus. I imagine you must first frame your video manually, and only afterwards use autofocus. This sounds simple but I don't know how to do it. If you have a video on the subject, or if you can recommend some one else's instructive video, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks again.

This tutorial was soo useful to me. I was searching for exact this Vid! I am using Vlog on my Gh5s till now. I can colour correct it with a lut. But I don't get the cinematic look out of Vlog :/

Couldn't agree with you more. I just finished up a huge project and spent 3 weeks testing all the profiles and coloring and testing in lighting and I didn't want to believe it, but V gave me the best results.

Good video. You should also consider updating this video because the firmware update has changed the setting locations.

Sorry Danny, on my GH5 there is only 64-1023, 64-940 and 0-1023 for luminance level settings... What do you advise?

Before you upgraded did you keep your master pedestal at +15? A lot of people say it should be kept at 0

Hmm.. interesting point of view but you will loose so many detail shooting with this profile i really wouldn't you recommend to shooting with again! keep the Cine-D profile with custom settings and you will have the most dynamic range on this camera V-Log-L is also very very good but its sometimes too flat and a profile like Vlog is only good when you can shoot in Raw! :)

Check out James Miller's CineV setting.

Hey Danny. I really like the profile here and I also personally like the contrast that cine v applies so there is less work in post.
I'm new to the GH5. Do you apply any type of sharpness since you reduce it? Or is it just fine straight out of camera and with some grading.

So fast turn arounds (but with good quality) are important to me also. I sold my G85 and I'm getting ready to buy a GH5 since they are cheaper now... Lol. I just liked and subscribed!

Could this settings work with the G85?
