I've gotta say that this is my favorite G-suit in the Showa series, even though the effects are outdated Godzilla still looks like a living creature, especially if you look at the 1955 suit.

while watching it and feeling it, it gives me such a disturbing and unsettle vibe, I like it.

Near the end of the clip :( 😢 the firefighters crashing despite doing their duty to try to douse the flames and protect Tokyo...reminds me of how in WW2 where Japanese houses and buildings were timber and that US airraids could set Japanese cities on fire and where at that time it was up to locals to set up thier firefighting services then

Wouldnt the JSDAF have potentially have deterred Godzilla from even entering Tokyo given he seemed to have a hard time batting them off and retreated to the oceans? Or the difference is that by the time the jet fighters appeared Godzilla had thoroughly rampaged Tokyo so he wasn't very bothered by then?

The original ‘54 Godzilla is Masterpiece after almost 7 decades since it was made and Godzilla himself looks really terrifying in Black & White. Rest In Peace to Haruo Nakajima (original Godzilla actor), Ishiro Honda, Tomoyuki Tanaka, Eiji Tsuburaya (The creators of Godzilla).

The Music Sounds Cool

I love how in this film, electricity does fuck all to him. I hated how later on it sort of became a weakness.

I've always been able to see past the rubber suit and imagine how terrifying this would be for those soldiers. To watch this towering monstrosity shrug off artilery rounds before slowly turning to look down at you... chills. Hoping Minus One delivers a similar picture!

Still top 5 scenes from all Godzilla media, and easily the best sound effects for his roars. A shame the original roar was lost after this film.

Crazy how Japan made one of the greatest cinematic masterpiece of the 20th century with a deep and compelling story only to fuck it all up with a shameless cashgrab the very next year.

Imagine living in 1954. No internet. No video games. Maybe there's a spring loaded toy car you can fiddle with. Maybe you can go fishing or throw around a ball. And on television everything is ordinary. Endless ordinary stuff. And then this comes on.

If they had remade the new one in the same timeframe of the old one with the same music and of course newer special effects it may have been better. As always the originals were the best.

This was the first Godzilla movie I ever saw. I never was the same after this. I thought Godzilla was real when I saw this film as a kid. This film is a masterpiece.

This is my fav Godzilla movie out of all of them. I love everything about it. The acting, The plot, The suspense the atmosphere. Everything is top notch. It destroys the newer Godzilla movies. And all the ones that came after. One of my fav movies of all time. One of the best movies ever made. The 1954 Godzilla. Although I do like most of those also. My second fav Godzilla movie is Return of Godzilla 1984. Movie is underrated.
