Yo that's my last name
ОтветитьShe also remind me of yuki onna
ОтветитьMora (or Morana) is just one aspect of the same goddess who has threefold manifestations. For the people who study Slavic mythology, this comes as no surprise as the number three is very prominent in the Slavic mythology.
One thing that I’ve noticed happening to Slavic mythology in recent years is the new stories that sprung up online, which make the Slavic deities behave very similarly to the deities of more popular mythologies, such as Greek or Norse, giving them human wishes, desires, and yearnings.
This is a grave mistake, in my opinion, because I feel that the feature that gives Slavic gods and goddesses their distinctive and particular flavor is the fact that they are very unlike humans, which makes them so formidable, powerful and, yes, worthy of fear and respect.
Since there isn’t much written material on which Slavic mythology is based, most of these stories that Mora was a lover of Dazhbog or Jarilo, and that she was somehow betrayed by a man, which turned her into the cold and dark goddess of winter are kind of silly to me, but I do understand that it is human nature to fill in the blanks and try to come up with stories that explain how or why something has or is happening; making the world make sense, which is how we came to have these beautiful pantheons in the first place.
Maybe Mora is that way because of it, but I highly doubt it. Everything you hear online about the Slavic deities should be taken with a grain of salt.
,,Morana'' comes from ,,mor'' - pestilence, death, and ,,Marzana'' comes from ,,mraz'' - frost.
ОтветитьPutin's mother?

ОтветитьThe Slav pantheon is underrated.
ОтветитьThat’s cold.
ОтветитьCan confirm. Winter is evil.
ОтветитьThat’s just sad…. scorned by her lover, then hated by mortals for doing what she does.
ОтветитьIntriguing figure. A film should be made about her.
