Ive played guitar for many many years but ive never been very good at dialing in tone on sims. This absolutely turned my trash tones into something usable on archetype plini. Thank you so much

Can anyone tell me why it seems limiting playing through my focusrite to computer and headphones rather than my actual amp? It seems like there is this very slight delay but I’ve been through all the latency stuff and nobody else seems to have an issue. Maybe there is no delay I can’t even tell something seems off though. I have a MacBook Pro and even used the low latency feature in logic and everything. But the feel is just not ever the same as playing live through my amp. I guess I’m destined to be miserable since I live in an apartment and can’t play my amp often :(

Tonewood in is a myth. It's been objectively proven over and over again. As guitarists we've got to stop perpetuating this marketing lie.

less digital , better tone.....good 80s metal guitar like jackson or charvell, good tube amp with some metal settings and thats already 90% of the tone....most digital toys make the sound artificial

just trying to understand but, You used the plug-in and DID NOT BUY IT....IF SO, NOT OK, REPEAT NOT OK, IF YOUR GOING TO USE GEAR ON SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU MONEY YOU SHOULD BUY IT SO THEY CAN GET PAID FOR WHAT THEY HAVE DONE, JUST AS BAD AS THE PEOPLE STILL EVALUATING REAPER, WTF.

Curious on thoughts about the guitar volume knob? Starting at full volume and Interface gain know lowered? Or should guitar volume knob be at a low-mid point, and adust the gain higher on the Interface? Cheers!

Good video bro and mega helpful but the shit about guitar wood and tone wood isn’t really worth talking about. Glenn at SMG did tests with varying tone wood and came to the conclusion that it affected the sound negligibly.

tone wood aint a thing for electric guitars and basses, its been proven, that thick slab of maple will do nothing to the sound. how is a pickup, that uses a magnetic field interference (the string) able to pickup resonances of a non magnetic material. simple, it cant. focus on transducers and pre amps/poweramps more than the material of the guitar. you could take a strat clone and put the pickups of a custom shop fender strat into it, and set it up good, and itd sound identical, minus the human error on the playing

Okay, so I'm looking for a bit of advice from those of you guitarists who are in the loop. I've played in a number of metal bands throughout the late 1980s through the 1990s, then life took over, family, kids, etc... I used to own a 50 watt Marshall JCM800, and couldn't begin to count how many live shows I put that amp through. That same amp head also served as my practice amp. Eventually I had to pawn that amp for money, and have been seriously considering psychological therapy ever since just to find out WTF I was thinking! Anyway, I'm now at 55 years old and embarking on my mid life crisis, and want to get into another band. Either that or go out and get a 19 year old girlfriend, but my wife seems to think getting back into a band might be the better option. However, the only amp I own now is a little Yamaha practice amp, definitely not suitable for anything other than practicing alone and recording. Amps have come a long long way since I've been out of the loop, so I'm looking for some advice as I shop for a new amp head to be able to play live with a band. I'm looking to be able to go from an AC/DC sound to a more modern metal tight low end sound like Five Finger Death Punch, and a few sounds in between. Any advice on such an amp head? Or does such an amp not exist?

Gotta question there
So i made a pretty decent tone. But as soon as I double track it, it starts to sound like theres too much Mids, but if I scoop the mids a bit it really starts to get noisy in the highs...
Someone got an idea?
