SketchUp - Creating a "Cutting" Component

not very helpfiul, another obsolete tutorial with somehow perfect conditions to allow the function to work. Is the plane locked? Does this work with solids? we may never know.

How do you make your component cut through both sides of the wall? That wall was "one dimensional" I need them to cut through both sides of the wall.

Can it cut through a solid ?
