Read Activision's patent on in app purchases. They specifically spell out how they do in fact reward gamers with special lobby's full of bots (noobs) when they purchase a skin. So in reality, cosmetics defiantly DO affect game play.

"Call of Duty modern warfare 2 and Halo were amazing" how to lose all credibility in less than one minute 😅. I guess you never played any FPS besides these 2 ones and that your nostalgia is talking for you. About what comes after, well that's obvious, micro transactions, DLC and co suck, everybody knows that, nobody ever believed it was a good thing, be it in the FPS genre or any genre.

Modern Gaming = job/carrier and this is the issue. its not games anymore its jobs... jobs for you pros and streamers.. but what about everyone else? I dont want to compete in fing Olympics every time i play a GAME. Plain simple :] i think this is unfixable and casual fun pvp is dead, only maybe in closed friend servers fun is still possible.

The problem isn’t free to play games at all. You clearly are clueless AAA gaming by to play buy DLC‘s buy season passes by cosmetics, weapons and gear. These are not free to play concepts. These are quite literally the AAA gaming industry doing their thing I’ve played tons of free to play games some I’ve never spent a dime on and felt completely comfortable in my advancement, in fact for me, I preferred free to play because the level of monetization is always acceptable. When I well I wouldn’t ever buy but if I bought any version of call of duty, I would immediately be pissed off at the monitization that’s involved in that game, call of duty is one of the most egregious Video games in the industry you have to buy it every year you have to buy two or more DLC‘s every year to keep up you have to buy a season pass or you miss out on items and then there are items you just buy in the store because they’re good I’ve never played a free to play game where I felt like I had to buy anything in order to succeed at the game. Somethings were convenient like buying a bunch of warehouse space so you can store shit in a lot of shit in your warehouse available to all your characters or or or raw if it wasn’t possible to buy to acquire inventory slots for most games that will sell you inventory slides. Also have ways for you to get them without spending money free to play games do anyway AAA gaming companies. They don’t give a shit about your gameplay experience. All they care about is making money free to play. Games are usually made by smaller studios that actually care about their game.

I am not really sure what you mean by modern gaming but what has ruined anything in the gaming industry no matter what genre or sub, genre or or population style of you choose is monitization destiny one is a superior game to Destiny to it almost every way destiny two has higher Fidelity graphics. For instance yeah destiny won the same locations look better. Destiny two has Barbora Contant, but the game play in destiny one is more difficult and more satisfying as an example. When you enter destiny two originally came out as a sequel to destiny one OK the story progress through destiny one and then we went to Destiny doing picked up the story and Carey, Dan Bongino has decided to delete all that story you know archiving put it out on a timeline so you can look at it if you want but you can’t play it And then they re-wrote destiny two to pick up right where destiny one started with a new guardian in the same fucking field of dead cars who has the transverse true cosmodrome they took away a really good quest line to go recover your light after losing it although nobody playing destiny Joe, as their first experience, even understands what the fuck is going on the fact is we lost our light in a battle, that isn’t even possible to play anymore a questline in a campaign that doesn’t exist and then they put a sorry ass replacement in or are you going to squat here in there to regain all your abilities fucking stupid shit, but the starting sequence at some point, they decided to replace destiny one with destiny two instead of a sequel it is the story so you start where your guardian is found by a ghost in our arm Long forgotten traffic jam and you have to make your way through the cosmodrome the destiny one cosmodrome is challenging and difficult. The walker is tough and you have to shoot his legs off. He sends out shanks drops of bone. See ya bombs that that sometimes catch you off guard destiny two I’ve been one shot that fucking thing over and over again I don’t have to shoot his legs. I can shoot him right in the face throw my ultimate on him and his dad Two entirely different games ones candy land with a gigantic fucking cash shop with all kinds of anti-consumer monetization in it that they’ve snuck in over the years so that the people playing the game didn’t notice what are you gonna play destiny one you noticed the destiny two sucks because of monitization in fact almost every game that’s been ruined overwatch file accounts overwatch was a great game. Literally I played the beta and I thought it was good but I never bought it but clearly it was a beloved game, so what did they decide to do while they weren’t making any money anymore so they decided to release a new and updated version called overwatch two which is really just exactly the same game With the same heroes goalie real differences is the size of the squads anthem monitization again anti-consumer, monetization ruins everything in the game of industry made Esponda play Iran and if you can avoid demonetization it’s still there and it makes the game was fun for a lot of people it’s not modern gaming life service gaming is existed since the 90s I mean literally yeah fall Ultima online. Wow games like that started this industry out with continuing revenue streams, which is what live service means. It means a game of the gaming industry. That’s going to be always online with a continuing revenue stream for the company so that they can keep developing and dropping new contact. Literally the most beloved games in history are live service games and they’re still in existence today the ones that started the industry this is not modern gaming. This is legacy gaming watt ruins, the game such as wow if they would go whole hog on monitization and wow, it would destroy the game they would lose what’s left of their population Final Fantasy 14 if they dropped their subscription model, and went all in on the cash app with all kinds of convenience, graphing and boosters stuff that sells back, they would lose its popularity as well. Monetization is what destroys games in the gaming industry.

Again, dude, your version of halo is somewhat warped. It’s not a supreme pizza software. It might be Microsoft star flagship shooter, but it’s a failing product in this industry call of duty on the other hand and the reason Microsoft, trying to acquire it is a powerhouse people will buy that game year after year even though it’s the same fucking game over and over again with a few different details, people will continue to spend money in the cash shop they’ll buy all the DLC’s that the season passes but halo halo’s dad who infinite killed halo I mean edits peak the highest concurrent hour was 256K they are currently under 14,000 people playing her halo in the highest peak in current hour in the last 24 and it’s a brand new relatively new game destiny two on the other hand, ironically, given the developers hit a highest peak and current hour of 316,000 and hit 44,000 in the highest paid concurrent hour in the last 24 and it’s a six year old game nine year old if you count destiny one but you can’t really contest the one contest the one in destiny two wow they may seem like the same games are not remotely similar they really use a lot of assets invest me to, but they illuminated most of the story to and yet destiny two after all these years is easily Handley beating out halo and destiny two is on every single platform where is halo is only on Microsoft products so those numbers on destiny two are multiplied by about five times PS4 PS five version Xbox one Xbox series X and asked version Windows version and then I feel certain although I’m not gonna check you can probably launch it with the PS plus premium subscription on PC as well and obviously from steam and I and I venture to say probably on epic as well so that’s need to text halo’s ass. It doesn’t just on steam but if you’re adding all the other platforms I mean it outrageously kicks halo’s ass. It was a huge mistake letting go of Bungie and now Sony Owens Bungie so

No offense, dude, but you’re a child in the gaming industry started die before you were born, and FPS has never been the height of the gaming industry. The gaming industry actually started with black farmers and not moved on to MMO‘s on the PC the height of the gaming industry was all kinds of different MMO‘s, I wish FPS games would be the Titans and the leaders of the industry but they’re not there a niche and halo priced used halos example very platform limited game kid only available on Microsoft products if anything was on FPS defining shooter, it would be call of duty I am I’m not a fan, but I can’t deny call of duty is the one shooter that has existed for well since before you were born and continues to dominate as an FPS and so many different sub genres how late such a big fucking deal that the entire gaming industry in multiple countries had a problem with Microsoft acquiring it I mean not the fear because once Microsoft, acquire something they chip away at it and take out a goal with the best part and illuminate everything else so Warzone will continue but the rest of Call of Duty® will probably get trashed in any case even today FBS is aren’t the leaders of the industry. In fact anything you can play on your PC is probably not remotely and industry leader unless it’s something like World of Warcraft and MMO by the way because PC gaming only makes up 20% of the gaming industry.

The 90's was the BIRTH of the legendary console age of FPS gaming with N64 Goldeneye and Perfect Dark and it showed how to port and make or port pc shooters which had been thought impossible up until then. I have played the FPS genre since the dawn of my gaming career I lept from Millennial FPS games to Generation Z style shooters the FPS genre has been a gaming ICON of the industry for over 30 years and spanning three generations of gamer's is now completely dead like a few other genre's. I DO NOT buy modern games EVER anymore and i encourage all of you not too either there are better hobbies out there these day's who give's a crap about modern gaming lmao.

capture the flag idea is a dead concept now and days there is no more new players in the fps subject such a shame that money talks to much the game makers refuse to address this subject

Halo and Medal of Honor paved the way for games like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and they're one of the largest reasons why 3D Platformers are so rare nowadays. Pretty much how Shrek paved the way for the death of 2D animated films in the US mainstream. LOL

The issue is everything has and needs an online mode which is great an all but not at the expense of offline local vs modes ala goldeneye. As much fun as it is to play your Fortnites and Apex legends(fyi I can't stand these games or br in general) when they lose their luster and the servers shut down you have nothing but the memories. I on the other hand can still pull out my GameCube and copy of Timesplitters 2 and play a 4 player vs mode with family and friends. However my Battlefield bad company and Battlefield 3 are useless coasters now because the servers are down and their is no local offline multiplayer modes. But not all has not been lost a recent game going under the radar named hypercharged unboxed has everything we long for in a fps traditional fps tdm offline modes the ability to play bots horde mode and yes you have local 4 player and even up to 8 player versus if you have multiple switches or steam decks. Meaning this game will never go the way of the dodo as long as you have family game nights.

Its also funny how there is currently not a SINGLE AAA FPS game that has somewhat realistic and immersive aesthetics. Literally every single shooter for the last 6 years have become the exact same generic Apex Legends looking crouch slide run and gun shooters. Even Battlefield, a franchise that was known for having realistic war atmosphere and semi-arcadey gameplay has been downgraded to crazy outlandish skins and mindless near Call of Duty-level ADHD gameplay with their last 2 games.

Like please, could there be just one, ONE FVCKING AAA FPS that is NOT trying to be the most generic and lifeless arcade shooter in all existence?!?!??

What I mainly look for in a game is a good story. Halo was my awakening to just how good games could be. I played through the entire series and I don't think any other game, movie, or book has as important a place in my heart as Halo does. Because that story, from Reach to Halo 3, is amazing. Not just the characters but every single aspect down to the way the armor is designed is phenomenal. And I miss it. I can still go through and play those campaigns but it isn't the same knowing that the games 343 made exist. That I'm expected to like those too. Honestly it's insulting. I want a game like that again. Compelling story, casual multiplayer, forge mode to encourage players to make everything in the game their own. But now? Battle pass, wacky armor for some reason, $15 color microtransactions. Yeah. Doesn't quite live up to the hype, does it?

I honestly think that company greed goes deeper than that. All modern fps is nowadays is just following trends. Tell me ONE modern multiplayer fps that isn't a battle royale, hero shooter, milsim or csgo.

Back in the day, you had way more choice on what games to play and those games had players. If you're not playing any of these big ones, the biggest chance is that they're absolutely dead. If you don't wanna play either a battle royale, hero shooter or milsim, all you have is basically csgo and that's not good for fps gaming as a whole.

Bungie have turned Destiny into a Skinner-box FOMO bounty simulator, with shoddy poker machine level rng on top of that. And this has bled over into the pvp game design. PLUS they can't be arsed limiting the effects of PVE changes on the PVP space....so Crucible is a shitshow. Ultimately, we can see that short-term money is very clearly their top priority...and not just by a little bit (which would be understandable). Making bank is sooo important to the company (the execs I mean, not the devs), that even a semi-addict like myself can't ignore it anymore.
