For a person that doesn’t know wine, I did learn something today
ОтветитьYes!! Any wine from France is superior to all others imo
ОтветитьI was gifted a bottle of chateau gazin pomerol 2001, from my birth year :D
ОтветитьLove me some barefoot 🦶 wines.
ОтветитьNot helpful. Seems a lot more like a course on how to pretend you know about wine, than actually teaching a novice about wine.
Take out the word “intro” and title the video “intermediate”. Then I would say the video is OK.
"Pinot no-waur"
ОтветитьI don’t like bright cellars, they just have white label whines. I’m a wine geek and I can say you a doing a great job with, way better than How to Drink did with wine.
Ответитьif she wore a bikini or lingerie you would get more subs and views. just saying.
ОтветитьThat roses call was mind blowing. You guys nailed it.
ОтветитьLove your channel-I searched through your content and couldn't find much about Amaretto-I'd like to learn more about it.
ОтветитьCan we get more of the lovely Az in your videos please!
ОтветитьReally enjoyed this video! My parents and some friends are more into wine than I am, but I'd like to have something to add to a wine conversation. Definitely considering this as a way to learn and explore more wines that I wouldn't necessarily pickup on my own at a store. Cheers!
ОтветитьGerman semi-sweet Rieslings from the Mosel region are my favourite! Luckily I live close by and can get them directly from the source.
ОтветитьI worked a wine tasting room and brew pub for 8 years up until the pandemic hit. I once used the tasting note “hamster cage” with a completely straight face. 🍷🍷🍷
ОтветитьIt's like looking into the eye of a duck.
ОтветитьOZ needs to be in more videos
ОтветитьYou two are cool.
ОтветитьWow, would I ever like to see your astrological charts. You guys are cute together.
ОтветитьCatching up on some of your previous vids. Love this style of tasting video with the both of you. Much like the Mezcal one. Would love to know your rankings or favorites as well when you do these tastings. Keep up the great work! Cheers!
ОтветитьForgot Portugal though......
ОтветитьMy grandmother made a dandelion wine that I loved. She lived i. The Columbia River Gorge, so I’m always nostalgic towards wine from there.
ОтветитьLmao at "funk" and "barnyard" as wine descriptives
ОтветитьMy problem with wine is I don't know how to store it. When I open a bottle, I know I have to finish it tomorrow - max, which is ususally too much for me and feels like an obligation. Would be cool to hear your thoughts on this. What you gonna do with six opened bottles? Writing it off is always an option, but it is not a solution.
ОтветитьThis video was super helpful 😊
ОтветитьSumaliers were proven in multiple studies to actually have no idea what they're talking about. They did blind tests and pretty much got them all wrong
ОтветитьJust curious, is there a descriptor to use when you get raw beef?
ОтветитьWould you please please please do an into to amaro’s video?
ОтветитьEducation is a good thing! Thank you Anders
ОтветитьWonderful watching live from Japan 🇯🇵 🇺🇬🌎🌍🌏🇺🇬
ОтветитьAs someone who likes cocktails (and I mean a lot), this vid on wine is really nice to see. Not enough fellow young folks seem to appreciate the adventure that is wine.
ОтветитьI recommend trying some South Australian, barossa reds! They're beautiful because of the climate we have here
ОтветитьThis was great, and I'll be forwarding it to a couple of friends who are a bit intimidated about wine - constructive feedback: it would have been good to have common traits for each varietal, rather than just notes on the vintages you had there, so that newbies would have a fair idea of what to expect from Varietal X , and then the fun of picking out the flavours specific to that bottle.
ОтветитьWow!!! You must own the Wine Folly book!!!! This sounds like the first chapter to the tee. LOVE IT. Thanks for sharing the dogma about this amazing beverage :)
ОтветитьHey Anders, how about a trip to New Zealand? You can visit soon and we have awesome wines! Also - any company that gives you free booze to talk about is cool by me.
ОтветитьYou`re telling old news.
ОтветитьI learned recently that early peoples drank wine because the rivers/lakes/seas weren't reliable sources of hydration because the bacteria made them sick, so they mashed a lot of different things for drinking and then fermented drinks began to be a thing :)
ОтветитьThat was an awesome video!
ОтветитьLoved the video!! Will be sharing this with a few of the juniors at work
ОтветитьThis was awesome! I’m from the Napa valley and I’m not a huge fan of wine. I love classic cocktails and am obsessed with your channel! Your channel is actually where I started my home bar hobby. This particular video had me laughing so much I enjoyed the crap out of it haha back home the “wine snobbery” is such a real thing, and I suppose that’s why I never leaned into it. Now I am considering picking up a few bottles to have fun with it. Thank you both 🙏🏼❤️🥂
ОтветитьPS - Just say "Oregon" we know it's a state :)
ОтветитьHappy Valentine's Day. Put a ring on her finger!
ОтветитьThey said that Cabernet was sweeter than expected. That’s probably because it’s from Paso Robles, which is one of the southernmost wine regions in California. That means it’s hotter. That heat often brings out sweeter, fruitier flavors in the wine. This is fun to know because it means there’s so much info out there about wine, but you by no means need to know it all to experience it’s complexity. Just literally smell it taste it, and think about that experience, how it makes you feel and what you notice.
ОтветитьLoved the video! One thing I'd like to add to anyone beginning drinking and getting into wine.
I am by no means close to knowing a lot about wine, roughly a year I started working at Spanish Fine-dining restaurant in Australia and one thing that really surprised me
(as the place specialises in wine and I had basically zero wine knowledge prior to working there)
was that many people tend to focus on the varietal as describing the style of the wine, which is in most cases very very wrong. As you pointed out Pinot from France and Pinot from Oregon, are two completely different wines, but more so the process of wine-making can change the end result of the grape so much, and I see it everyday with our Spanish wines, e.g. bobal grapes can be made from the same winery into quite easy-drinking "pinot" style wine or can be made into more like a "merlot" style wine.
So what we've been told, when a customer asks for a "Chardonnay" or "Sauvignon blanc" to counter question them about what specific style of wine they are after and it really changes the whole understanding of drinking, to me at least.
So next time, when you try to order a wine talk about the wine properties rather than just a grape to get more of what you're after.
If you have never tried, I recommend any bottle made with 100% pinot noir, which you will most of the time find in "Bourgogne" wines, (or Alsace to a certain extent). It is extremely fine, balanced, light and non tannic. Forget about the rotgut Merlot and Sauvignon from Bordeaux :)
ОтветитьGreat video! Awesome information! More videos of both of you in front of the camera! She should have her own channel 😁
ОтветитьSuper liked this!!! I really like seeing a normal person tasting stuff haha
ОтветитьWhat is wine? Overpriced fermented grape juice. Next question!
ОтветитьHope it does not come across crude or anything, but you - AZ and Anders, are our great drinking buddies. We are happy to watch a "vintage" video (or two) before going to bed and are up to date with all new stuff. We are very happy for the channel. Wish you all the best. Na zdrowie!
