If you have loads of time and love editing in post then sure, the FF Sony can give you an edge due to it being FF, but if you want the best image quality for the least time spend then Fuji nails it hands down.
The SOC images are wonderful from the Fuji. I almost never have to resort to RAW and can rely on Fuji’s rendering to produce a image that I describe as having ‘realness’.
Most of the Images and video from camera’s like Sony etc all feel digitally ‘fake’ to me. Unless there was heavy processing involved it’s like watching a bad B-movie from the early days of digital camera’s.

If you're wide open at f/1.2, and focused, then decide stop down, have you found the focus to shift? It's almost like focus breathing.

All this lens is doing is making me feel like my Fuji 33mm f1.4 might not be as awesome as I imagine, yet my snobbery is making me not buy it - with the excuse that it's because it's 200g heavier. Even though it's 95g LIGHTER than the Fuji 16-55mm I held in my hand all summer! I'm an idiot.

In the equivalent comparison (1.8 v 1.2), the Viltrox has a better 3D pop to my eyes. Also the leaves in the background have a bit of swirl to them, looks nice.

There are cheap Chinese manual lenses which have lots of character. Many of them take quite a lot of inspiration from vintage lenses. That might be something you're after.

I always liked standard Fuji colors better but nowadays I like Sony more if edited properly. Your samples for me look more natural on the Sony. More neutral skin tones while Fuji bringing too much magenta. Shot outside on the Sony looks more natural and yellowish in the sunny weather with nice color of the sky, maybe just touch too much yellow on the grass. I guess the shot where you sit down on the grass with f4 setting is Provia on the Fuji. This one looks nicer but dynamic range is poor then. F-log and Eterna are not to my liking at all. Also the special look of Voigtlander 35 f1.2 on a FF is just no contest. You can't replicate that on APS-C and buying those gigantic Viltrox lenses for APS-C is hilarious although their 75 f1.2 can give something similar looking to the FF. Man I am more and more pushed towards selling all my Fuji stuff and buying A7C II.
Oh and by the way Fuji is still doing focus pulsing even though you just sit in one place on the grass and aperture is f4. Oh boy it's 2023 and it shouldn't happen even with third party glass.

Interesting. Fuji looks way off compared to Sony. Though, I predict the results might have been a bit different if you’d used the XT5 or the XH2s coupled with an x-mount Voigtlander.

I since switched to the Nikon Z8, but I had the Viltrox 75mm f/1.2 Pro for my X-H2 and I absolutely loved it.
Super sharp wide open, very solid build quality and (after the update) great autofocus. If that was a first party Fujinon, they'd charge at least 2x what Viltrox is charging. Viltrox is really killing it these days.

Yeah a full frame bodied lens on an APSC only camera system is pretty sad. There's no edge and corner performance to check on as its sharp from edge to edge and corner to corner. APSC and many full frame and mirrorless medium format lenses are all sharp edge to edge and corner to corner and every format looks the same. There's no longer an apsc look or full frame look or medium format look, unless you get a Voightlander, Zeiss, Leica or Pentax lens for that cinematic 3D pop dimensional image quality.

The problem is the Fotograffee industry and Poofessional Fotograffers have been demanding lenses be sharp from edge to edge and corner to corner - now everything looks the same. Same bokeh, same bokeh balls, no flares and no CA's (which create 3D pop). Over corrected lenses and everything looks clinical and sterile from edge to edge and corner to corner. Sony's getting rid of Zeiss slowly and what will they have soon, 20 element count lenses in 19 groups - do you want that? no I don't want that! The fotograffers are killing the industry and killing lens design with massive element count lenses that have corrected for all aberrations especially 3D pop/dimensionality........

I watched a review of the Pentax designed Tokina Firin 100mm 2.8 macro versus the Sony 90mm 2.8 macro and versus the super sharp 17 element Sigma 105mm 2.8 macro for E-mount. The sigma was the sharpest but rendered a totally flat 2D image. The Sony with one extra element over the Tokina had 3D pop but not as much as the 100mm Firin. But you watch Fotograffers embrace the Sigma lens for its sharpness and "Aberrations are all well controlled" image rendering. Its utter madness. Fuji lenses have no 3D pop, its all huge element counts and aberrations are all under control and image rendering is flat.
