I just bought the aluminium ones. Tonfa ,whether using one ,or two is an incredibly effective weapon both for offense and defense. I was told tonfa , tuifa, or guai came from the handles of farming implements. Either way, my new tonfa will be passed down to my posterity for generations who will study my family's art of sutomu burei do. I can't wait till they're delivered.

After a week of training fairly consistently with my aluminum tonfa...my forearms are much more conditioned to take a hit...if you love the tonfa, you would be foolish not to get these...they have taken the Okinawan form, and augmented it with aluminum....these tonfa are literally power personified when in trained hands.

I purchased some rubber tips to put on the gyakute and honte ends of the aluminum tonfa....they make it easy to do tonfa push ups without scarring my precious weapon....however, the rubber tips really hurt the okinawan aesthetic & appeal....now they look like silly crutch canes that are too short.... however, there is no better tonfa for push ups... I'm 6'3" 250lbs and they handle my weight without issue.... other tonfa have broken under such weight.

I've heard that tonfas came from China as a weapon.

You guys make three aluminum tonfa, I'm interested in.

The solid aluminum.

The high-strength aluminum one. (this appears to be the basis for the spiked on, and is probably hollow)

The spiked aluminum one (which looks like the high-strength but with pointy cap ends and is hollow inside).

Why not review those as a group?

Tonfa is a fine weapon but the aluminum spiked tonfa's really rad plus it make a great addition to samurai shodown.

There are Kata (And combat applicaitons) where you DO hold these weapons by the end, using the handle as a striking surface... I can appreciate that these two are simply showing the weapons, but they also limiting the viewer in the proper use of same.
