ОтветитьI just found one in Goodwill for $65! Kitchen Aide Heavy Duty, 6 qt still in the box and I am over the moon! I'm 75 yrs old have wanted one forever! Price in Amazon over $500! Checking out tutorial! I started cooking and baking during pandemic and I am excited to play with it! I'm baking my own bread, making yummy mayonnaise. Mahalo and Aloha from Maui!

ОтветитьGood morning, I just purchased a “lift” stand mixer… and appreciate your efforts here in this recipe. One suggestion would be to re-orientate the mixer so we can see the speed settings. You mention stir settings… Would that be one or two on the 10 point scale?

I have never seen anybody add so much milk in mashed potatoes. I’m absolutely not knocking your potatoes because actually they look scrumptious and I’m gonna have to try them like that. TYFS❤
ОтветитьWhat makes the best potatoes is not the milk it's not half and half it's heavy whipping cream and the butter that makes the best is Land O'Lakes That's what makes the best mashed potatoes..
That's too creamy, almost runny I knew that would happen when you put that much milk in there. Heavy whipping cream would have been better and you don't have to use that much

ОтветитьThe Kitchen Aid stand mixer makes the best meringue I ever tasted. It makes meringue high and delicious. Sometimes I make meringue and eat it in a bowl for a weird type of dessert. So yummy!

ОтветитьI can't eat mash potatoes any more because of diabetes. What I do is substitute the potatoes to sweet potatoes. I take the egg whites and beat them to make a topping. Then I will get my torch and brown it so it looks like it has been in the oven.

ОтветитьExcellent. So, you don't even need a KAid food mill attachment to make extremely smooth mashed potatoes. Good to know.
ОтветитьI had always done mashed potatoes by hand using a fork or a metal potato masher. Today I tried using my mixer (from another brand) and they are very good. They have turned out so airy and fluffy. I have left some small lumps here and there which is how we like them and adjusted the liquid to our liking. But it is a great method. I will mash them like this from now on!

ОтветитьNever...never add so much liquid, and don't whisk it with the wire whip attachment because you are developing starch in your potatoes, and the puree will taste like glue. Just add a little bit of warm milk and a lot of butter. Use the POTATO RICER as all French chefs do.

ОтветитьHi Tina! Would putting in hot ingredients like potatoes that condensate the mixer, break the mixer??? I always get nervous putting in hot ingredients that make the mixer condensate because I don't know if it will break the mixer. Thank you!

ОтветитьIve read almost all the comments and I want to be the judge out of everyone as its my birthday today so I have full control over the situation. First off I must say Amazing. I have had these tatters multiple times and they are not "soupy or processed" they are fluffy light and amazing. I add garlic in my tatters.
ОтветитьIf you spray your stand mixer bowl as well as the beaters with a nonstick spray it makes it a lot easier to clean

ОтветитьI use them cheap Russets and leave them lumpy because I'm lazy like that. Then dump a load of baked beans on top of them. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm good.

Does it handle well bread dough? I have read reviews suggesting the next model professional 500 is better and more reliable.
