Wow Brian. Knocked it pit with this one. The wheel color and the NHBP Paint complement perfect. I’m jealous. Beautiful accord.
ОтветитьGreat video, Brian! I'm undertaking a frame-off restoration of my '83 Land Rover Series 3. It's an all-aluminum body (a.k.a., Birmabright). Would you recommend the same process for aluminum with an epoxy primer as the starting point? Thanks! ~Pete
ОтветитьI remember seeing a video about trying to use a pancake air compressor, why isn’t that possible and can you add an air tank to make it possible?
ОтветитьHelp!
First time painter here... I sanded & sprayed my car, and instead of getting this slick, smooth finish feel to it.. the surface came out feeling gritty and rough, almost like 600 sand paper. What did I do wrong?
So on nice restoration jobs do you recommend the polyester primer all the way through ?? Or polyester primer then go to a high build 2k primer for the 2nd round of primer ?
ОтветитьHello, The TDS for the Evercoat Feather Fill says: "Once dry sand Feather Fill with 400-600 grit sandpaper prior to next step" but if I'm correct you used 180 grit. The TDS also does not say anything about not being able to paint basecoat over it. Can you clarify? Thanks
ОтветитьAgain great information thanks for your content
Ответитьi wish that Klean Strip aircraft paint remover was accesible here where i live. roughly, how much would a job like this set you back? i have a 2017 a6 allroad, that have som ugly chipping(not many,. like 3-6) and i also would like to have the plastic trims around the wheelarches painted.
ОтветитьMy 08 TL is nighthawk black pearl and I have a hood and bumper to repaint, this couldn't have come at a better time!
ОтветитьWhere is your shop? I want you to paint my car.
ОтветитьLove the 3rd gen tl in the back
ОтветитьPerfect video I have a 7th gen coupe 06

Ответитьcan you review your air compressor and the filtration?!
ОтветитьGreat job I have learnt so much from your videos.
ОтветитьWhat’s up with no Paint Society suit have you picked up some sponsorship from Sagola?
ОтветитьIt’s hard to get around a vehicle and keep a wet edge across the roof what temp do set the booth at ? I know you preach slow everything to help coats lay out but even with slow it’s very difficult to get around a full respray sometimes it’s almost impossible to get a good stop n starting point.
ОтветитьAnother awsome very informative video!
ОтветитьVery good and detailed video, thank you.
ОтветитьGood job bro, I'm also a production painter and just started watching your videos. It's good to see someone who takes the time to help others. There's a good many tips and tricks to our game and it makes me feel good seeing people willing to help others have a better understanding of the process.
ОтветитьHi, I love your work!
Could I ask if you don't mind please. When you have a brand new panel (before attaching it) you prime, base and clear coat. How do you blend it to other panels next to it?
And when doing smart repair on small damage area. Do you sand damage area, then fill and sand. Then 1000 grit entire panel. Then prime damaged area, then base coat damage area but flick it so abit goes on other panel. Then clear coat it all?
Hi Brian, I have a couple of quick questions. My Mustang was painted about two year ago and has been sitting in my garage since as I have been working on it. I want to repaint the car since it has gotten a few dings and some nicks. I am also going to seal it before I paint it. What grit sand paper should I use to scuff the clear? After I scuff the paint, I will expose the dings, etc... should I sand them down to the primer or metal before adding body filler? I am normally getting many automotive questions but this is my first time asking a question because I never really got into the painting process. Lol. Thank you SO much in advance.
ОтветитьMan that really came out 🔥🔥🔥 thanks for teaching/ entertaining us all!!!
ОтветитьThat looks nice man I would be very proud of that result
ОтветитьHow long did u take to paint the whole car from start to finish ?
ОтветитьHey Brian thanks for the videos I tackled my 2011 Silverado repaint job. Single stage black 3 coats with aero pro a610 some spots turned out very glossy others had some serious orange peel wonder what the reason?
ОтветитьGreat job
ОтветитьHi Brian, I have watched and learned from many of your videos and I have painted my Tesla door with PPMR red and it’s 95% color matched and I still see somehow the color is lighter but some other angles the color looks matched. What can I do to make it darker to match the original panels color? Should I clean clear coat and apply 1/2 coat midcoat or mix midcoat with clear coat (tinted?)
ОтветитьAre you taking customers?
I have a car that needs paint.
How do you preserve the vins and OEM stickers ?
ОтветитьMost DIY's have no grasp of the tremendous amount of labor involved in a project of this scale and quality not to mention the material cost involved, this is exactly how it should be done but probably beyond the grasp of the average guy working in his garage, from someone who was a professional painter for over 20 years this is how you do it right.
ОтветитьLove the new mixing pearls
Thank you for staying true and mentoring God in every video
I'm looking at painting my car and in need of advise on air compressor I'm looking at the chicago air hush 150 or chicago air hush 70 it will be used for sanding with 6" sander and painting you have help me so much on how to go about what I'm about to do I just can't stop watching you now so meany tips and reviews
ОтветитьGreat all around video many useful steps to painting a car! Thank you!
ОтветитьJust now catching up to this ... THIS WAS SO INCREDIBLE BRIAN !!!!!!!!!!!!
a true restoration expert !!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH
ОтветитьSo, as a diyer, without the speed of process. I am about to strip all the paint off my project. AFTER spraying epoxy over bare metal, is there a working time at which i can no longer urethane over it? Or once epoxyed, can it sit for a while before skuff and urethane?
ОтветитьA body shop would never take a car apart that far nor would they strip down to bare metal. Time is too precious for them so they take every short cut possible. Comparing DIY with a “professional” I believe is apples to oranges
ОтветитьA contact at Eastwood told me I can paint directly over the epoxy primer. Why do you put epoxy and another primer on top?
ОтветитьHow does one sand down plastic body panels that have paint chipping off so it's all level?
ОтветитьWhat would be the cost of a job like this?
ОтветитьWow, decreasing any confidence i had
ОтветитьSo nice to see such work and the final result is awesome... top notch work... keep going Brian with such information.
But by the way I have two questions... What is, more or less, the final thickness of this paint job as it started from bare metal? Way too much above the factory values?!
Do you make a water wash of the surfaces each time after using the scuff pads/sanding or you really only use a moisted towel to pick the dust and then use the needed rag tag? Because otherwise you will wet the protection plastics and so on!
Keep going! 😀
Great Video. I am getting ready to try painting a new fender. It is made from SMC. I assume that I need an SMC compatible primer (looking at Evercoat Feather Fill G2) but after that, can I use any sealer? Or does the sealer also need to be SMC compatible? And since it is a brand new fender, can I skip the primer and move right to the sealer? Thanks
ОтветитьHey brother, just a heads up I think you forgot to dimple the top lip of the axle nut over the notch on the axle shaft after you torqued the axle nut down 😬 thanx for doing this video 😉
