A load of utter rubbish ............. I am originally from the city. 62 now and have lived in England for the last 42. Get back when I can. The city is beautiful and have noticed my time there the massive numbers of tourists. Plenty of good eateries, cinemas and with the Millenium Forum, much to do at night. Regarding Halloween - anything but low key - world renowned for its celebrations. Yes, it could do better in its regeneration, but as most of us know, nothing exists west of the Bann. More money goes into Belfast than anywhere else. If you had done your research more thoroughly, you wouldn't have posted such crap.

You seriously need to do some actual research as that was absolute bullshit. Come visit Derry and judge for yourself.

this is bullshit. I live here with my family from September 2023 and it's a wonderful city with lovely and friendly people all around me. the city is really peaceful and not crowded like other cities of UK.

Do not pay any attention to this video! It is inaccurate, bordering on offensive! The images are either not of Derry or are very old images. It is clear that you have never been.
Some of the information is absolutely laughable, for example, Derry has the largest Halloween festival in Europe. And to say you can't get a good pint in Derry is simply hilarious.

I'm not claiming that Derry is the most beautiful place in the world, but it has a lot of history and charm. Such a poor video!

Though born in Derry my family would always spend August in Donegal, I guess it was good to be out of town for the Apprentice Boy march, especially 1969 our last before emigrating to Australia.

Thia video is abolute rubbish. The halloween celebrations are world famous. There is lots of nightlife. Lots of pubs, hotels and places to visit. I don't know who wrote this dribble but Derry is a great place. The video shows run down areas of America which is not Derry at all.

Derry is a beautiful city with a gorgeous architecture, saying as someone who visited recently. Yes this architecture isn't always well maintained, but honestly doesn't look worse than most British mid-sized towns. Especially considering it was a literal war zone for 30-odd years, we're lucky it doesn't look like Mariupol or Bakhmut after the advent of the "russian world".

Yes , its the ugliest city according to a website known for its lack of research. It was voted the 4th best city in the world by lonely planet in 2013, perhaps you should reconsider spreading misinformation
Also this video is full of misinformation:
1) Most of the photos you displayed are either not from Derry or are from areas which have since been regenerated.
2) The city does attract visitors, over 1.2m visited the city in 2019.
3) The city was regenerated BEFORE the city of culture.
4) The city was chosen as the city of culture because of its rich history, architecture, events and culture.
5) Derry attracts huge amounts of visitors during the summer season. Its home to Irelands largest maritime festival and fireworks display, which attracted over 225,000 people in 2022 and the world--class 'Clipper world race'
6) Derry has the 3rd lowest violent crime rate in the UK, not the highest!
7) The city has brilliant nightlife, there are countless bars and restaurants open late into the night such as the award winning 'Walled City Brewery' and 'Paedar O'Donnells Bar'.
8) The city council maintains all street lights. Why did you assume the city has no street lights?
9) Many of the things you mentioned were from a sarcastic article from 'Belfast Live' in response to the article written by Atlas ceramics.
10) The city has the largest Halloween festival in Europe, you said it was 'low key'????
11) Derry does not suffer from a 'brain drain' it is home to the Ulster University, which has over 5000 students in the city.
12) The city has plenty of shopping places. It is home to Foyleside, which is Northern Ireland's second largest shopping centre and was previously home to Austins, which was the worlds oldest department store.
13) The city has 5 high quality museums and a wide range of city parks, such as Brooke Park and St Columbs park.
14) Derry has not suffered from economic decline since the partition of Ireland, there is no hard border so the city has been barley affected by the division of the island.

Therr is or has been any financial or infrastructure input into our city for decades because all the money goes into belfast and thats as far as it goes

Well, there is a lot of ugliness in the Six Counties.Not all of it set in concrete ...

I just had a holiday in Ireland and spent 3 days in Derry. Derry is a lovely and interesting place to visit - the walled city, museums are excellent and people are very friendly.

It’s known as the city of Derry or Derry/ Londonderry and it’s a beautiful city …please Google Derry/Londonderry it’s the best place in Europe for Halloween shows too … if you’ve never been to Derry/Londonderry 8 really think you should visit before you put a video up …we live in Donegal Ireland 🇮🇪 and bust Derry often as it’s only 15 minutes drive from us
