This easter egg has ruined the lore of NFS/BMW M3 GTR

I'd say maybe they're setting up a new Most Wanted game, but I am not even excited for the idea anymore after the gameplay trainwreck that is Unbound...

They should've just added to the goal of Carbon by making you collect the crew members to fix your car, let you race it against Darius and the others in the final races, and then ended it there
Also, hypothetically, if NFS was published and developed by good people, it would've been cool to have an entire game centered around how you go from the blue Supra to the M3 GTR. Like a prologue game.

I refuse to believe that I'm returning this awesome car back to Razor.

moral of the story: The m3 gtr needs to be let go. It's beyond overplayed now.

When Frank Mercer pulled up in the M3 to escape in the final chapter of Heat, I howled like a Bonobo ape. The fact I had to ram it until it broke down felt like Sacrilege.

I feel like Ryan Cooper was the undercover cop in nfs undercover and he let the hero go in nfs carbon in the last race then the hero went to nfs underground then went to nfs most wanted Rockport then went to carbon then after that it's very unknown but I did hear that the hero racer was the driver of nfs Rivals

Seriously, so unbelievable? Or really people don't understand how connections work? Ok. The mission says, the guy was in jail, and wanted this car first. It's not the protagonist. It's RAZOR from NFS Most Wanted. He wanted the car. I bet we will get the protagonist here, and the protagonist from heat together in the next NFS, or a DLC mission. Anyway, HUGE SPOILER: at the end of the game we get the house/collector reference too if we understand to read between lines, and this takes us to the connection between EVERY NFS game from Most Wanted. (Truly from NFS Underground, HP). At least some of the programmers at EA make something to give the game more meaning. Just imagine, if we'd find out the attacker in NFS Underground was the collector's hired man! But still, it's great we get things from other NFS too.

But the car was destroyed in Carbon

maybe this was the lore all along, it wasn't all shown, but it is inferred in the events that we can see.

Why don't EA let the BMW M3 GTR rest in peace? it has already done too much for the franchise and the community this car is literally like a curse it follows us in every NFS game.

Since darius is obviously rich and managed to pay off 150k he could've took the m3 gtr after the crash and repaired it, he could've then took it to fortune valley after getting dusted by the player. So now we could say that during the events of payback the m3 gtr could've been one of the smuggled cars and that frank mercer was one of the cops who were assigned to investigate the car smuggling ring, and eventually gets promoted to lieutenant in nfs heat and he collected a bunch of exotic cars and one of them was the m3 gtr which explains it's appearance in nfs heat. the car could've been impounded or sent to it's original place. the race track (as there is no way the player could obtain an original m3 gtr legally.) assuming that the m3 gtr belonged to a race track in chicago (lakeshore city) where the player could've snuck into the legal race and bailed out of it somehow and applied his own livery then escaped to rockport. back to the present, since the m3 gtrs are no longer being used for racing it was abandoned in the dockyards or temporarily parked there.

Flashbacks casualty be like

What if.... The PLAYER from Palmont comes back for M3 and fights Razor again for it. It would be epic to see them back in action along with upto no good Cross.

Maybe the M3 GTR has some kind of Devil Z thing.
It is cursed, and it just appears randomly because the other owners couldn't handle it. Maybe the protagonist from Heat couldn't handle it and shipped it to Lakeshore, and Razor was released from Lakeshore's jail and wanted it back to cause trouble again.

But it is just theory, the reason is actually because EA just like to milk the M3 GTR lol, but it is cool to elaborate some lore ngl

We beated 15 blacklists just get our car for 1 day and then after our car was taken away and then in the future game it was given to razor so what is the worth of beating freaking 15 blacklist to get our ride for one freaking day like the player who drove the bmw m3 gtr himself is pissed up or somthing

Well, the protagonist maybe don't care the BMW M3 GTR anymore. He is the master of the Palmot after the Carbon. But why Razor harbor it?

It's just an easter egg/reference to the past.

Yaz was mainly talking about the prologue of NFS MW 2005 where Razor stole your car by cheating and sabotage.
It's Razor's fault if you ended temporarly in jail but released afterwards due to a lack of evidences.

All NFS games where the BMW M3 E46 GTR from NFS MW/NFS Carbon appears after NFS Carbon are replicas since the original was destroyed by Cross in an offscreen cutscene where he does a reverse.

Only the NFS MW/NFS Carbon storyline is canon to this car. The other games where the car is featured is just for fan service purposes since EA still milking the NFS franchise with the same car which means it's not canon.

EA/Criterion Games are too lazy and are running out of ideas to make other worthy iconic cars.

Pay attention to the wording, and how they mentioned “razors edge” like they were literally throwing puns it was so corny and predictable, but nonetheless, I feel like they are hinting at a nother sequel to need for speed most wanted ‘05 in the future.
Even the actors that played Cross and his assistant were hinting at it recently, and then she deleted the tweet mysteriously .. obviously nothing is confirmed, but like… If not, why put this in the game and why are the sequence of events coming up like it’s all some big marketing scheme? I hope they fix the story of the M3 once and for all and give an official canon explanation. And the next need for speed needs to be more aggressive with a more twisted ending if it’s a most wanted sequel. Razor comes back. He has the car now because of what happened in unbound. Yada yada yada.. but what about the plot and how are they gonna make it different from the others? They could literally copy Tokyo drift where you have a final race and it’s like a show down and you literally kill the dude. And then the main protagonist destroys the vehicle once and for all. I don’t know I just feel like they’ve been milking us up to this point if it happens.

I think the NFS devs need to learn the difference between a homage and beating a dead horse with a stick.
The M3 GTR's popularity from MW and Carbon is what has ultimately killed it for almost every modern NFS game if you ask me.
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the M3 GTR, in fact I love it so much that I'd like to build a replica of it someday with how special it is to me, but at this point EA has become so cash grabbing that they feel the need to slap it in almost every new title "just for the fans" and call it a day without understand how we as the fans want to see the car.
It's been over a decade.
Maybe it's just me, but I feel the M3 GTR is one of many things that is really holding the new NFS titles back from being their own thing with new memorable cars, like what the M3 GTR was in MW 18 years ago.
It's time to stop disrespecting this car and actually treat it for what it is, an icon and a relic, a car to be fearful of with it's history.
Something only seen for a moment before it races off into the night, running until it can't anymore.
I'm at the point where I have such a love hate relationship with this car that I'd be more excited and fascinated to see it wind up in a scrapyard for once in contrast to it's constantly pristine condition as if it just rolled out from a factory.

It's funny that in the middle of 2023 people are discussing and trying to understand "lore" in a racing game that history has always been in the background because of how irrelevant it is.

Since NFS 2015 they have been placing cars from the series (whether 100% identical or not) and some easter egg. In short, nothing much just to call the attention of nostalgic fans.

Wait, wait, wait, your telling me after many fricking years keeping the M3 GT-R safe from crooks like, Crock and Shaver head, he gets the M3 in the end, what in the actual fuck??!!

Maybe one day we'll play as the main charcter from mw 05 and carbon on his way to get it back for the last time

I don't think that Razor was in jail all these years. He's the guy who probably did illegal stuff all the time and got into prison much more than once.

The guy that called in this game to get his car back is the protagonist from Most Wanted, thats why he wants his car back

This is one of many reasons why I still love & play NFS Games from PS2 Black Box Era (from 2002 to 2008 - I mean from Hot Pursuit 2 to Undercover).
It's sad how EA and Criterion ruined this legendary car.

In NFS Heat there's a district called Fort Callahan, which is a run down prison. Maybe Razor was transferred there early during his prison sentence and then transferred again because the prison had to be shut down, explaining why it's so run down. Bull and Ronnie were friends of Razor and they probably got a smaller sentence than Razor so they were released earlier. They maybe tracked down the M3 GTR for Razor and stole it from the impound lot to take it to Palm City, where Razor would have been released but wasn't, since he was transferred again. Bull and Ronnie maybe tried taking the M3 again to get it to wherever Razor was gonna be released but couldn't find it because the Palm City PD stole it and put it in some warehouse. It was kept in that warehouse for years until Mercer freed it from its container and ended up crashing it. Since that would have been the first time the M3 GTR was seen again in years and that chase + crash was most likely on the news aswell, Bull and Ronnie caught track of it again, repaired it and stole it and got it to Lakeshore, which is likely the nearest city to Razors prison where he would be released. They maybe transported it on a semi trucks trailer in a container so the police wouldn't see the car and thry dropped it off at the docks of Lakeshore because, well, it's pretty suspicious to drop off an entire container in front of a house. So Razor tasked the player to bring him the M3. I know a lot of this probably doesnt make sense but this is just my personal theory.

Also car wasn’t impounded in a cutscene in heat where player and ann sneak into a car chop shop you can see the car in background and if you listen closely you hear two cops having a conversation about a racer they stopped and arrested as well as taking the car. So it was sold off to someone else who rebuild it.

I feel razor’s edge is way too much a reach to comfirm it is razor
