1) Pippins, an unused enemy, has a similar facial structure to mystery man
2) Seam also has a similar facial structure and he is connected to JEVIL and therefor, indirectly also connected to Gaster
3) “is that a gash apon your eye” is a line in a creepy dialogue in the files likely spoken by Dess. This obviously refers to Mystery Man

If we put the disseapereance sound very slowed, we can hear a piece of gaster's theme, also mus smile in a spectrograph shows mistery man face.

The fun value you need to get to that room is 66
In the game files theres stats for an enemy called "gaster" that has 6666 Hp 6666 DEF 666 ATTACK and even the gold youre rewarded for is battle is 666
With all the connections to the number 6 is pretty clear that person is gaster

Yeah, but that only happened to foreshadow Susie in Delta Rune, and Delta Rune is definitely connected to gaster. So gaster probably had something to do with it.

The mystery man fun value is 66 and the unused gaster fight stats are all this 66666666666666.

We actually know a lot more about that character and there is a lot of evidence pointing to it being gaster

I believe that this man was not originally Gaster, but Toby Fox seeing people saying that mysteryman was Gaster made him officially make Gaster look like him.

Even if there was zero evidence, using some other design for gaster would probably make at least a few fans angry because of how iconic mystery man is in the fanbase

Actually there is one POSSIBLE factor, a unused card of the mystery man labeled Gaster. Toby could have not wanted to use it because it WASNT Gaster or it WAS Gaster. Hopefully time will tell.

My headcanon is that Mystery Man is Aster and Redacted is Wingdings
