That's where it ended up, captain Andy show, used to run on tape and compressed air, then got changed to a pc software called showcad, great price of kit. Miss the original Thope Park. Enjoyed working there..

I remember we went to Watermouth Castle a few years ago with Denbon after he was watching lots of videos of it and there was a video of the dungeon and the first bit with the fairytales were ok and the bit with the shops but there was a really creepy bit at the end. He waa talking to us about how excited he was to go and see Gulliver and the Gingerbread Man. We arrived and walked into the robot band room and everything looked really tiny and more dim in every room. It was almost like walking through a toy dolls house. It was loud in the robot room so we walked into the kitchen where there was a lady at the table cooking and there was nobody else in there. We were walking around talking about everything and it was all coming together from when we last went. We walked through a room with newspaper on the wall which i had seen on the video i watched. Then we were back in the great hall which was weird as i thought there was another room. I also remember from when i went the time before, there was a room with curtains that we walked through twice. Then we went in the railway room that i remember from the first time we came and i was trying to get past lots of people to have a look. We walked into the next room which i can remember and there was a man sat with his headohones on. He started to move when i walked in and there was nobody else in there as we were first in. We walked through the other rooms that i can remember walking through the first time but i could not find the room with the curtains. I thought that there was more rooms but i saw in the bext room a sign on the wall pointing down saying " Dungeons". Denbon was getting quite anxious when we saw that but he was trying to get downstairs. We walked downstairs and Denbon got excited as we could hear the music on Gulliver. We saw a door at the bottom of the stairs and Denbon started to panic about that really creepy bit at the end. We walked in and saw Gulliver but he looked way bigger than he did on the video. I asked Denbon who that was and shouted Gulliver and then was having a panic attack whilst trying to find the way out as i thought the last time we came, it was as soon as we came through the door. Then, the light went out on Gulliver and he screamed as he thought the light stayed on the whole time and i was saying how creepy it was but i pressed it again. He thought that when the light went out, you had to keep on going through and he didn't want to go through that really creepy bit at the end. We walked round the corner and saw a sign saying this way for all things spooky. He was almost in tears as we saw Hansel and Gretel and i pointed it out that the gingerbread man was over there but he was just having so much of a panic attack that he went straight out the door. He explained to me once he calmed down that he was scared of that really creepy bit at the end but when we came out the door, we saw people walking out the exit door already. We later tried to go back in again but it was all quiet in there and i saw the banner saying Hansel and Gretel in the door that was dark that the gingerbread man was in. I told him when he was freaking out again that we can just press the light on Gulliver but he ran back outside. It was the funniest thing ever.

Another good and interesting park I never knew existed, yeah agree a family coaster could be a next up investment? Hopefully this is something that is added in future? Will have to wait & see if that is something they will add in & have added in since visiting? Toboggan I would say was the same length or similar length to Chatham Ski Centre?? If not, that one in Medway is a bit longer? Not really sure to be honest? But yeah a good selection of rides here, but yeah a coaster ideal for families would be ideal 100%. Cheers and look forward for more park vlogs soon & in future. 😀👍

The first family holiday I remember included visiting this place in 1999 when I was 4 years old and we revisited again 10 years later in 2009 when I was 14. Watching this made me quite emotional as I felt like I was there all over again. Thank you for a great video. Even though I am now 27 (going on 28) I would love to go back with my family just to experience this once last time.

Hm it's kinda a shame with the condition of captain Andys rivertown revue. They were originally from America, then Thorpe Park and then of course watermouth Castle. Used to be a huuuge stage it looks from the limited footage that's around. I like how they've kept them all together but they run on such a low air pressure that they barely move. Back in the day it seemed there was a lot of life in them. And also they only run that one show and the programming may be lacking too. It's cool that at least they look good though!

Stayed there in one of the onsite cottages with my 3yo a few years ago. Has an on site swimming pool for guests too. Cheap as chips for 7 nights 3 beds. Also can use the park after hours, not the manned rides obvz

When Denbenou went here, he loved Gulliver in the dungeon so after we had finished the dungeon, he did Gulliver again. Afterwards we didnt even make it to the theme park until he decided to come back and do it again. He was so upset when the light went out. He even made an excuse in the light show that he didn't like the flashing lights just so he could go back and do Gulliver again. This continued throughout the entire day so I didnt accept it.

The boat ride that you rode used to be called the tv’s family favourites water ride at Crinkley bottom (the home of mr blobby). Sadly the ride closed in late 1998 and the park was sold to a hotel company. Also the ride was sold to watermouth castle.

The dark ride scene on the snail ride used to be based at Watermouth Castle’s (now defunct) sister park, Once Upon A Time, but instead of teddy bears, it was The Smurfs! Exactly the same set up, but they’ve just replaced the figures with teddy bears!
The smurf dark ride was on a similar train layout but as you rode on the outside section you would be greeted by characters from The Wind in the Willows!
