I'm the proud owner of a 1999 Mercedes S600, one of only 14 brought into the US in 1999 (I'm told) with only 72,000, completely virgin, clean and magnificent. One of 3 S600 in my garage including an SL550, and a Bentley Flying spur, yet, this is the most gorgeous and fantastic car by far. I've been offered over $60k and I just laughed at the offer.

No S Class set the attitude for the rest of the Mercedes lineup quite like the w140. Bruno Sacco it's designer didn't like that it was too tall and thinks the roof should have been a little lower but it still looks awesome either way

I've driven maybe over 100 cars with an average on 30k miles on each all across, brands Ford Chevy Lincoln VW BMW Audi Kia Buick Chrysler Mazda Subaru Jeep! I am now on my 4th W140 3rd R129 and 5th C32 amg! there simply isn't any car other than w140 I appreciate and love! Perfection and built to a tolerance that's never going to be appreciated or replicated ever again! I truly believe this was the last demonstration and homage of mechanical and technological excellence where a brand truly pushed the talent in search of excellence and they got there! but that couldn't be a business motto therefore now they've the committees and accountants do the bidding for $! but Mercedes is the only brand I have faith in that could go back to days of chasing excellence, hopefully one day they'll go back and make masterpieces that are timeless like once before!

Technology has advance a lot. Automotive industry have reached a lot higher after w140 was produce. Mercedes itself are now producing car with a best technological advancement man has ever seen but still and again i say but still MERCEDES BENZ W140 IS STILL THE BEST MERCEDES EVER PRODUCE. no other automobile company has even come closer to this beast. I had driven 1997 S class amg 7.2 ltr 12 cyl engine and it is still after all these years i could not find one car which could make me feel soooooooooooo good.
