As I glance through the portal, into another day
Locked in and loaded, it’s time to get away
Say goodbye to your family, no time to delay, we’re on our way

One minute to countdown and there’s fear in my eyes
We ascend through the heavens, an arc through the sky
So far out of orbit, watch the Earth shrink away
There’s no turning back, no more halcyon days - halcyon days

Control panel blazing, it’s like Christmas up here
The rockets engage, we launch through the air
With gravity’s pull, the retros kick in
A new page in history, is about to begin

Out into orbit, destination unknown
Our mission to locate, Earth a new home
Our planet is falling, it’s wasted and spent
The message was clear, but failed by government

Taking my time, just floating in space
Watching the worlds pass by
Back in the capsule, I take into view
The image of you and the rest of mankind

Taking my time, just drifting in space
Watching the planets collide
We know what is right - and we know what went wrong
There are no excuses, for what we have done

Somewhere across the universe, way out beyond the stars
Is where I’m headed with you girl, past Jupiter and Mars
Planet Earth is floundering, it’s time for all to leave
The lucky ones can start again, in another galaxy
