Haven't test this plugin and I am using other plugin to clean orphan tables. I will give it a try.
As for the default WordPress tables, those are 12 and not 11.
To answer to last question why would do a DB cleaning manually, I had a client who came to me for a website speed probem and his WP DB was 1GB. No tool could fix that. It took me a week to check the content of the wp_posts and spot the problem.
