Upgrading to Final Cut Pro 10.1 - PART 1 of 3

Lillian- You get to choose what's fair and what's not. When FCPX first came out, Editors all over the place pissed and moaned about all the features it lacked, it's incompatiblilty with prior versions of FCP, how all the loyal FCP editors/edit houses had been abandoned...there wasn't enough Kleenex in the world to dry all the tears of woe. The simple solution was wait until FCPX matured (or failed completely) and in the meantime keep using FCP7. Nobody HAS to move to new software or OS's, it's their choice. Seems we humans have a hard time accepting change, especially when someone else is doing it, like it or not!

I was an immediate adopter of the initial version of FCPX. I didn't love it, but didn't hate it, either. Like any new, complex graphics-type software, it takes awhile to get it's act together. I hope I never have to look at the interface of FCPpre-X again. It served me well, but it's NOW and FCPX has become an excellent app. I paid $300 for FCPX in June, 2011 and have never touched my wallet again for all the upgrades. That is an effing bargain, don't you think? I love it now and will upgrade to 10.1 in the next week, after this large project is completed.

Whoever told you life was always fair did you a disservice.

Why would Apple make such significant upgrades to FCP X that cannot be used on the prior OS system? Most pros and production houses do not update their OS systems immediately. That's unfair.

I wish Apples file management was as clean and simple as windows.
