Wenn sich mehrere Alliierte zusammen tun ist es keine Leistung die Wehrmacht zu schlagen
ОтветитьThisi is to threre army
ОтветитьThe tactic may be old, but its still effective against static positions.
ОтветитьKnowing how films of the 70s were made, all of the vehicles, ordnance, and bullets were using live rounds
Can’t even imagine the waivers these actors had to sign 😂
good war
ОтветитьMy favorite WW2 movie of all time
ОтветитьIt’s like playing the video game “Company of Heroes” on Steam especially with the creeping barrage!
ОтветитьWatching this with British Grenadiers from GuP playing in the background is something to behold
ОтветитьRedacted ... Taxes
ОтветитьI wonder how communicate each other within Allied Forces although different many languages..
ОтветитьThe Germans were still dislplayed as either stupid or fanatics, not real people which is regrettable as it would have made the movie truely timeless. But the battle scenes were quite realistic. I like the German voices in the background! "Es wird nur auf Befehl gefeuert"
ОтветитьFor this scene the director did not tell Michael Cain what was about to happen and NO computer special effects in sight
ОтветитьBRILLIANT Portayel of The FULL SCALE HORROR of H.EXPLOSIVE Destruction And The GERMANS IRON COURAGE !!!UNDER HEAVY Fire !!!THEY Were SOLDERS !!!g
ОтветитьHeinz Guderian !!!The MASTER of Tank WARFARE Said HE Had FACED It ALL !!!But THE BRITISH CREAPING !!! WAS HELL ITSELF ?????😳g
ОтветитьThe Creeping Barrage must be one of the scariest tactics to face, imagine a wall of explosions coming right at you.

ОтветитьI like how they actually remove destroyed tank out of the way

ОтветитьDANI : ARTILERY FIRE! FOWARD!
ОтветитьStart the purple! Start the purple!
ОтветитьOne hell of a battle. First the British make their presence felt by heavy artillery barage which did some damage to the German positions only for them to quickly return and counter with their own heavy barrage from their dug out positions against the moving British armor inflicting heavy causalities which forced the British to call for back up from the air. The support from the fighter bombers became too much for the Germans, and they surrendered
Ответитьi watch this scene about twice a month never seen a better rolling barrage!
ОтветитьI love the obvious creeping artillery barrage that none of them took cover for until they finally got hit.
ОтветитьSo sad this movie - especially after reading the book traitors at Arnhem.. the tanks were never meant to get to Arnhem
ОтветитьWhy didn’t the Germans shoot back
ОтветитьNo CGI! Incredible directing imho.
ОтветитьToo bad the didn’t have the 75mm or 105mm Sherman’s for HE effectiveness for getting rid of infantry and anti tank emplacements.
Ответитьamazing fire discipline from the German batteries as they are being walked up
ОтветитьArguably one of the most realistic-looking artillery barrages in movie history. In his book of the same name upon which the movie was based, former war correspondent Cornelius Ryan (who also wrote "The Longest Day") relates how the initial artillery shots were indeed exploding only a few hundred yards ahead of the advancing ground forces, as seen here, then were "walked" forwards.
I highly recommend Ryan's books. As a war corespondent, he was present during both the D-Day operation and Operation Market Garden (the subject of this movie). His research was exhaustive and his non-fiction is outstanding.
Those guns are firing real shells but on a range. They were then cleverly edited into the movie to give us this very dramatic scene.
ОтветитьIn this engagement how any of the Germans are still left to surrender is beyond me...
ОтветитьI like this film so much because Robert Redford is my uncles friend.
ОтветитьI think the British artillery was firing live ammo for those filmed segments. (I’m not saying they were firing live ammo at actors) but I noticed the recoils of the British artillery canons were more instantaneous where as there’s much more of a delay in every other cannon used, including the German guns.
ОтветитьGreat film
ОтветитьMy favourite war film.
Ответить"How the hell do they expect us to keep to schedule on a road like this?"
"We burn the forest down."
