How do you know what size pot to use?

Great Bonsai 101 on Transfer Potting a Large Bonsai. I just started my collection a few months ago and i have killed two small bonsai's due to the fact I didn't repot with the proper soil that goes with a Juniper tree. With your tutorial, I can safely also water it properly. Didn't know the soaking part and the shaded for two weeks before setting back out to the full sun..

Does leaving it in the shade for 2 weeks go for every tree or just junipers?

could your first cut have been left on as a sacrifice branch to help thicken the base and removed much later?

Jerome, after rewatching this I’m wondering. Won’t the water absorption and drainage into the two different soils make it difficult to maintain even watering? Thanks

I am going to be repotting my Jades. Do I also leave them in the shade for two weeks and water daily? I normally water them every two weeks.

I NEED HELP. I got my jupiter bonsai tree 3 days ago. The soil is 40% peat moss, 30% dune sand, 15% perlite and 15% bark dust.

I have been researching saying peat moss holds moisture which isn't ideal for bonsai. Sould i change my soil? Or leave him alone until next early spring?

Is it okay to put my newly repotted trees back in my garage? My area has no shady spots, so that seems like the only viable spot.
