Advanced Guide: Air Locks | Oxygen Not Included

I only just found this today. Incredibly happy I did. I love this game but am not the smartest guy and don't understand the mechanics that well. This was very helpful!

There doesn't seem to be a perfect airlock in the game. I've seen a lot of them. They all have some sort of downside. Turns out building two normal airlock doors with a pump in between works reasonably well to keep the gases seperated and is far cheaper than sucking your dupes farts out of the vacuum each time XD

There's also Viscogel lock, but that's VERY late game.

There is another option I use pretty much all the time: a small droplet of liquid (I usually use Crude Oil) still counts as an entire tile. So I put it on a tile and seal it with tiles leaving one spot to the side of the droplet and one below that so the Dupes can still climb through. It uses less material, space and the Dupes don't get the "Sopping Wet" Debuff (just the soggy feet).


Also: Gossman is a girl :P

But you said anything between doors, will get destroyed. Isn't it sound bad? You may need all those destroyed gases later, don't you?

rofl Thanks its so long ago since I last had to laugh about farts. Poor Gossman ruined your vacuum chamber. Nice content btw.

I know that this would take extra space but why not normal non mechanised doors, as they are faster, with a vacuum in between them. Would need a pump to maintain the vacuum.
