Wood stabilization is the process of strengthening wood so that it will no longer respond to changes in humidity. Stabilization can be performed in five steps: drying the wood, loading the vacuum chamber, saturating the wood with resin, curing the wood, and coloring the wood.

Pity that the pen you got was a disappointment. I have one that closely represents the picture from the seller. The main color is green. It came in a wood box (probably balsa).I have not inked the pen, yet.

The shape and size of the pen definitely reminds me of the Conklin All-American.

Hi Chris! Your review and observations are very important. From what I understand and from what I have analyzed for some time, it should not be a Jinhao fountain pen. The denomination 9056 or 9058 refers only to the Jinhao model that takes inspiration from its shapes. This is what emerges from AE in Europe. I am not aware of Jinhao fitting nibs and converters that are not theirs on their fountain pens, never seen it and I have been dealing with it for over 24 years. Furthermore, they have tried to emulate in the stabilized resin, colors used in the Visconti Van Gogh and Rembrandt fountain pens. Also from AE, where I purchased them, I would like to point out the Huashilai wooden fountain pens of remarkable workmanship. I agree with you about a better rendering of the color in terms of polychromatic variations, in any case I find your fountain pen very beautiful. Thanks for all!

The frog does look a little WTF. He's not mad, he's just disappointed.

Yeah, that's a disappointment, for sure.

I think your ink had more color variation than the pen, Chris. I spotted that offering, too, and was giving it some consideration, so
thanks for taking one for the team. I am less interested, now. Hope you get a reply and some satisfaction.

I think they ar now making counterfeit Jinhao's. I remember Doug got a Jinhao 100 and it wasn't a Jinhao. I would like to say thanks 'for taking one for the team'.

Maybe I missed it but what's the more orangey ink you're using in the writing demonstrations? It doesn't look like Cherry Sunburst still? Thanks for the review.

Kinda unrelated question: i saw the Diamine Cherry Sunburst sloshing around in the bottle and it looks very bright. Do you know any other ink that looks as bright and saturated (even cold tones) while in the bottle/converter? I would like to buy some for my demonstrator pens.

Looks like someone left it out in the sun, it's really pale and missing some great coloring.

First review I’ve seen of this! Great content as always! Looks like one of your screen shots of the “more expensive” Chinese pens is for the ebonite version of the Junlai (Wing Sung) 631 with 14kt nib…saw a review of a Junlai model, the 600 in ebonite, from @shak-md, and it looks glorious!

Ooh! I like the look of the pen as is, but I would be disappointed if I was expecting the pen that’s in the picture. And the pens in the picture are really pretty

I own several excellent ( cheap ) Jinhao pens and jumped at this "lovely looking' pen. Made the mistake of using Temu instead of Aliexpress! The pen is the worst and flimsiest piece of junk I have ever purchased. Within two months of infrequent use, the pen totally seized up with the front ens irretrievably wedged in the cap. Tried everything to gently open it only to have the front break off - stripped threads - and rendering the pen useless. It is by far the most fragile & poorly made pen and a joke at $ 52.00 Canadian. Do not get fooled like I did. BAD! BAD! BAD!!
