THIS IS HUGE: 5 Total War Mods That Will BLOW UP In 2024

These are my top 5 but I'd love to hear yours, let me know below! Honorary mentions for RTR Imperium Surrectum, I think there will be some great things happening this year for that one, plus Anno Domini 1051 AD & I've yet to try this one, but I've been very VERY interested in what Steam & Steel for Medieval 2!

Mods are the only thing keeping me in Total War.

Medieval 1212ad was amazing and is amazing.

I now adding in mythological elements are controversial but...can we get a "Ragnorok: Total war" mod :) ?

Also, yesterday we released new version of OWO, together with RAW files of the mod. So now it's available for other modder to usage in their projects ^^
PS. We didn't work on this so long >.< Whole development of OWO was more like few weeks xD

some days ago i started the medieval kingdoms mod... and after years on and off with this game, i was finally able to make it good looking, to make the lighting right! I really loved the medieval kingdoms mod, was allways playing ancient empires before, its so unfinished and unpolished, so i like mk 1212 way more only in today i found out that there are no fleets in mk 1212 :( , this was a devastating blow!

The Carlist mod for shogun 2 looks awesome. However....it's not on steam workshop but in moddb. Still was able to download successfully. Simple from this point? No.
The last update for shogun 2 removed the original mod manager for shogun 2 and replaced it with the creative assembly one. I then discovered that rolling back on beta to the linux pre 2022 update would enable the restoration of the old mod manager. Yay!.........nope.
Upon selecting the linux mod, steam did....nothing. It wont roll back, I can't get the old manager back, and I cannot play the Carlist mod. Very disappointed.
Will the mod be appearing on steam workshop at all?..... if not. Then there's no way to play it, unless you have a backup of a previous version of shogun 2, which I dont 😔

What i m really really waiting for, is a LOTR Mod like Dawnless Days. Honestly said I cant understand, why CA dont take that opportunity and releases a own game as it would be a strong must have for medieval, fantasy, totalwar and lotr-fans.

about Dawnless Days, are the mods making models for trolls and other monsters of LOTR? i did not see any of those for now

if it was not for modders these games would of died years ago ...good on them...but attila needs a modder to sort out the lighting in game so frigging dark apart from that sitll great

I need a total war mod that allows far east asian factions to colonize the americas, WITHOUT having to first fighting through europe.
There is one old whole world mod but the map does not allow asia to be close to americas.

Got a pc a few months ago and finally got Rome 2 Total war. Its literally like a dream to be playing this game. Used to watch people like "PrinceofMacedon" and i just cant bekieve im playing this game. Loving playing as Pompeyes Rome since i actually know a lot about that period in history. Loving that DEI and 1100AD Mods so far.

Personally I wait Rome overhaul for RTR: Imperium Surrectum the most. Not guaranteed that it will be done this year but fingers crossed! The mod as it is, is already very enjoyable

A good honorable mention should go to the Crusader Wars mod that allows CK3 battles to be fought in Total War Attila, it combines what I would consider the best aspects of boths games and with the updates scheduled for the next few months including more fleshed out systems and the addition of siege battles, I think this will be a major mod for both communities.

Does the map tool work for Empire and Napoleon?

There's a tool for medieval 2 that different modders are trying and it's pretty damn stable you can try it with the latest EBII update, the best it's yet to come 🫴

I would pay 80 dollars for a remake of medieval 2. With properly developed, all money toward the modders only from Creative Assembly, to hell with their current Devs, sorry but meh

I hope Total War games get made one day for the Copper Age, Southern India, Sahelian Empires, Southeast Asia, Inca Empire/the Mapuche, Pre-Colonial Maori New Zealand, Australian Aboriginal history, Papuan New Guinea, the Pre-Columbian American Southwest, Great Zimbabwe and the Stone Age. 😊

You should have included the Dragon Age mod for Medieval 2, it's gonna add so much and will likely come out this year.

Its clear now that CA has lost it's way and the best of this great brand is behind it.

If CA wanted to print money again, like WH series, they should do a Middle Earth game too. I'd do a big no no and preorder the moment I saw it. Also, Terminator, you need to do a few let's play of Divide & Conquer mod for Medieval 2 with V5 out.

Only a few things i'll be waiting for in 2024: Completion of the Dawnless days mod & the announcements of Empire 2 and/or Napoleon 2 on global maps and Medieval 3.

MK1212 is the only one I like on this list but I still prefer Vanilla. Maybe if they finally do complete siege maps I'll give it another shot, they should also do more custom UI and such like Medievqal Warfare right now it feels like Attila more than a "successor to medieval 2".

Should have given the Age Of Bronze mod for Rome 2 a mention doing what CA didn't with pharaoh :)
