still dont understand in subtraction, example if you subract 7-10 = 3 right, but you answered is -3, so in real life when i have 10 cents, i want to buy 7 cents ice cream is ice cream man change me -3 ?

On the last problem 3 - (-6)=9? So how can the money method work? 8 + -2=6?

a way you can do it is: switching the positive and take out the negative and turn the additon to a subtraction if you are struggling with negative numbers

How is -8 + -2= -10 if you said same signs are positive and different signs are negative

I'm teaching a student the rules of negative numbers and I was asked WHY is positive divided by a negative a negative. I am uncomfortable with 'that's the rules or 'because it works'. Any pointers to a deeper explanation please.
