My boss katana sounded like shit 😭
Anything past 4 and it would sound muddy
This is likely the best video on amps I've ever seen. I plan to watch it several times. I can't thank you enough, Dagen. Such useful information and so well presented. You're an artist.
ОтветитьRegarding the origin 50 , I'm trying to dial it to a bit metal tone, what pedal would you recommend? I'm using the GT-1 by boss and cant get it dial in as good as i did my katana 50.
I know it might not be the amp for metal but i would like to get it close.
Marshall VS40R | Vox AD30vt - V9310 For The Win!
Ответить👍🇬🇧❤MARSHALL #1 & VOX #2...... best of the lot🎸
ОтветитьI use a ToneKing Gremlin and think it's absolutely perfect for home use. Now I would like a Fender Vibro too. That sounded sweet.
ОтветитьDid the Orange not have any Distortion….?
ОтветитьA hotrod deluxe is so 'not' for around the house.
Thats if you like to have friendly neighbours.
The only thing I do not like about the VOX AC15 and the VOX AC30.. With greenbacks these amps weigh 22kg and 32kg.. I know they have big transformers for their wattage but come on... A Fender hot rod deluxe is a 40W amp and it weighs 18.6kg. The Marshall origin 50C weighs 18.2kg but has a small magnet speaker .. Change the speaker to a Celestion Creamback 65 and the weight would be 19.3kg. A weight like this would be better for the mighty VOX AC15 when lugging it around on one handle.. Don't get me started on the Vox AC30 onetwelve.. 24.5kg single 12" with a single handle on top..
ОтветитьDoes this guy have any time to do any real "work" in the guitar shop!?🤣
ОтветитьWhat a great intro to Amps for us newbies to guitar. thanks a bucket full. I will decide wheni go to check out the prices, but its the BOSS for me from the sound demo...Happy days mate. You are winning .
ОтветитьShould have used a Kramer nightswan to do this video with the amps..
ОтветитьThe Boss Katana changed the game. There is VERY little it can't do. The only downside is that it is "jack of all, master of none". You can find amps that are better at somethings but can't even DO other things the Katana can. It's not top in any 1 category (other than options) but is nowhere near the bottom either, and let's be honest Boss is one of the best when it comes to effects and you have got an endless supply at the ready. The "Katana Library" app for mobile is a GREAT tool. It's not as in-depth as the tone studio, and costs $10 to fully unlock all the options (WELL worth it) but to be able to use your smart phone to control your Amp in this detail is fantastic.
ОтветитьKatana is garbage.
If you don't know why you shouldn't play guitar. It's not for you.
But you still can impress your grandma with your fabulous guitar licks I guess.
Play more blues riffs please 🙏. On a tele haha. Love ya, bro
ОтветитьWhat about Randall amplifiers
ОтветитьYour videos are absolutely prestine my friend ~ and I LOVE the way you play guitar and how versatile you are ~ an inspiration for me! Much love from BC Canada!!! 🇨🇦
ОтветитьAs an aside, whomever Vox has writing their manuals does a cracking good job. Years ago, I bought a VT20+ to play at home, and found the manual that came with it to be useful, well laid out and logical. I felt like I knew my way around it's features with one read through.
Contrast that with the copy of War and Peace that came with my Digitech bass multi-effect unit. That manual was confusing as hell! I think whoever wrote that thing REALLY hates bass players... They should have hired out, and gotten the guy who writes Vox's, lol.
I'd love to own an AC-15.
It's the fuk switch, m8! 🤣
ОтветитьLol, I read it as "For gigging around the house". "Thank you, laundry room. You've been great !" "Thank you, upstairs bedroom. You've been great !"
ОтветитьThis is one of the best amp demo videos I seen. Really informative and the playing is superb.
ОтветитьWhich would work best for pop punk do you think?
ОтветитьI think it proves how many great amps and guitars there are out there for those on a tight budget now.
ОтветитьI have a Hiwatt SA212, now it is of course quite a bit more money then the ones you have in this test!
ОтветитьCan I use headphones with those amps? Im just a bedroom player in an apartment
ОтветитьFender DRRI head with blues driver into 2/12 1979 vintage Marshall open back loaded with 2 original 65 m 1777 lead cones
never did 22 watts sound so good!!
Vox !
they do it all !
I just enjoy hearing you play. I learn a lot from it and I usually learn something new from the topic of the video. I already own a Les Paul, it was my first guitar and I just bought my second. I added a Fender American Pro to the mix. I've wanted a single coil for a really long time.
ОтветитьI've had my boss katana for 3 years and it's been great, the blues deluxe would be in for repairs by now, fender treat their customers like shite, the blues deluxe is a fantastic amp but fender will not sort the issues out
Ответитьthis guy is a cheap phil x copy.
ОтветитьThe Boss Katana is sooooo impressive, I have the 50w MK1, got it new for £160 about 3.5-4 years back, such an impressive and versatile bit of kit!!! Absolutely brilliant, weighs nothing, can get loads of great tones out of it and it can keep up with a drum kit, it's crazy what Boss have done with that and I can only assume theyve made it better with the MK2
ОтветитьDagan play more old 70's kiss riffs man! lol Love it. Hell of a guy and a great player.
ОтветитьGood list and a nice selection of amps. However, my mesa mark V:35 says that you missed one.
ОтветитьDSL is better than the origin, Fender is over priced....i'd go the Vox AC15 in this bunch.
ОтветитьI have a Marshall 1/2 stack MG100, a Vox Superbeetle ( brit flag edition, Blues Jr 45 watt,( tweed) and a FireHawk 1500 !! Lol i know i have a problem ( and 30 guitars ! )
ОтветитьIve always heard the fairly rare Katana Artist blows away al the otherKatana 50’s and 100’s etc? Agree?
ОтветитьWhat band do you play in ? Excellent skill but sometimes a little out of tune?... love your vlogs!
ОтветитьSuch a great demo! Thank you for your work! You deserve more views.
ОтветитьThe katana mini and the katana mk2 100 are awesome. The mini for chiling and the 100 for rockin!!
ОтветитьOrange syinks
Sound like a Pa. Actually might he a good acoustic amp
Roland Blues Cube Hot 30
ОтветитьI love how enthusiastic and excited he got after playing his intro to the Marshall. He reminds of Russell Brand, but this guy is an incredible player. New sub from me!
ОтветитьIf I was in the uk, I'd buy off PMT just to show my appreciation for Dagz 😈🤟
Alas.. shipping to new zealand would be too much 😩
I'm about to start doing very mobile gigs with a pearl traveler setup. Guitar is fender player and was wondering if a 1w tube amp is loud enough to keep up with the traveler drums? If not would a 5? Or a 10 I know my Marshall dslc40 on triode mode 20 watts I couldn't even turn past 4 outside with a band.
Would 5 just be enough? And 1 not enough?
Had a back surgery can't move heavy stuff anymore, eventually I will be playing shows flat on my back on the ground 😂 even considering decking out a squire classic 50 for the extra weight loss for short gigs and thrashing on it :)
But need serious inquiry :)
I’m very tossed between the Marshall origin 50 and the Fender Hotrod deluxe iv. I play mostly classic rock, blues and a little pop but I’m trying to find my own sound and not ride the tonal shirttails of the guitar gods before. I will be using around 5-10 pedals. Any opinions? All help is muchly appreciated!
ОтветитьFor Blues and Southern Rock, the Fender Twin Reverb rocks, hands down. Then comes the VOX. But for more diverse styles of music, I go with the Blackstar Silverline, then the VOX, and then the Orange. Those three sounded the most tonally balanced that can deliver for all styles.
ОтветитьMarshall origin maxed is all I need
ОтветитьThanks man!! T TE he exact video I was looking for to find a better amp for gigs
ОтветитьOooooooh. I’d like to try that Marshall with my Tele Vintera 50s. 🕶
