How to push and pull private docker images on Docker Hub | What is Docker registry #dockerhub

insufficient information regarding the how to setup private repo and pull push images

What all data needs to be filled while creating private repository? Is there some checkbox/button to set the repository as private?

Is there any way I can do this just as shell commands? It's just that I'm trying to get a docker from heroku. It runs shell commands. It would be possible? Please can you help me? I don't understand much about it.
