For some reason people never say that Uruk is present day Iraq.
ОтветитьEnkidu sounds like he looks like a humanoid version of King Kong with dreads & Gilgamesh sounds like he looks like the Predator only 10x bigger.
ОтветитьKind of reflects the story of Samson as well.
ОтветитьIf you think the Epic and the Bible are similar - you haven’t read either.
ОтветитьTou xant tell me that the Bible ripped this off
ОтветитьWhat kind of bible are you reading bro, because that translation is WILD. Ecc.9:7-10 KING JAMES VERSION- Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works. Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment. Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun. Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
ОтветитьThis is absolutely fascinating.
ОтветитьWho says that the epic of gilgamesh wasn't inspired by the Bible and not the way you say it's the other way around? That is just a guess. You have no proof what can first.
ОтветитьThere is no overlap with the Bible
ОтветитьMore likely 14,000 years old.
ОтветитьStreching very thin , this associations are not at all consistent with the biblical text, to Say the least
ОтветитьOne hour in.... WTF is the J version and the P version of the story of Noah? I need a glossery, an apendex for a tall tale.
ОтветитьJust putting the word "ancient" in front of Iraq, outside of being, I suppose, Politically Correct, and implying that in any way it represents modern Iraq is incorrect. Gilgamesh was Four Millennium in the past and from the Mesopotamian peoples in that region. It wasn't even written Arabic/Iraqi it was Sumerian/Akkadian.
So, correctly speaking, it was from the Mesopotamian region that covered at one time the area from the Mediterranean sea in the North to Canaan, Lebanon (Israel), Syria, part of Assyria, Akkad, and Babylonia, down to the Persian Gulf in the South.
Nimrod 📖
ОтветитьNIMROD = GILGAMESH = OSIRIS = RA = HELIOS as in Heliocentricism = sol invictus = BIBLICAL CHAOS BAAL BALL LIE= APOLLO THEATRE 🎥 SHOWTIME DAILY WELCOME TO THE SHOW JESUS EXPOSES APOLLO THEATRE the LIVING WORD written in the HOLY BIBLE in the STARS 🌟 = LUMINARIES = ANGELS IN THE FIRMAMENT VIRGO 2 LION 🦁 of JUDAH written in and playing out in our TEMPLE = NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SOLAR DEITY THEY WORSHIP the CREATION vs CREATOR
ОтветитьWhich translation did you use, Derek?
ОтветитьInky doo
ОтветитьThis is all blasphemy. Turn back to the true faith of Nuggen as proclaimed by the great enlightener Pratchett. Read his words and know the truth of Nuggen.
Seriously. Great video. Thanks for making it. As an atheist and anti theist, this material should be well known.
Nice video
ОтветитьIt's ancient Mesopotamia.
There's no such thing as ancient Iraq.
It was not named Iraq until Arabs invaded it and barbarically forced the people to speak Arabic and slaughtered the Natives (Assyrians).
AWESOME! Respect and thanks bro!!!
ОтветитьSo incorrect and bent to compare a non-sense narrative. Gilgamesh was suppose to be eleven (11) feet tall w. the look that scares the crap out of anyone. His father was man and his mother a goddess. Somehow, he was 1/3 man and 2/3 god 🤷♂️. He was a TYRANT, it is said not one family didn’t have a slave or a dead member serving Gilgamesh.
Ishtar supposedly wanted him to marry her and he refused, so she set off to some supernatural power and clipped away their symbol of a “winged bull”. All of it, is simply MYTHOLOGY no different than any European in the Middle Ages. I’m a direct descendant of the Chaldeans of new Babylonians and a fluent speaker of Aramaic (Jesus and the Bible language) and Arabic.
MYTHOLOGY or in other words FICTION. It’s nothing more just someone here is trying to rattle Christians in comparing the epic of Gilgamesh (مل حمه كلكامش) to the holy book. He was hated by ALL bc of his brutality and created some gods or something, it’s not to be believed, it is beyond BIZARRE !
MYTHOLOGY 101
ОтветитьFacebook was released in February of 2004. The book I read in 1991 was published sometime in the 1950's. I sometimes have to point this out to younger folks like you. It's hard to understand that things happen before your birth. You're welcome.
ОтветитьSomewhere out there… there is an old man who is immortal among us.. utnapishtem.
ОтветитьI didn't like the story....how to call these people atleast 0.1% divine....I dont see any divinity here....there r other methods to learn lessons 👍🏻
ОтветитьIts a very interesting thiught expirement to read The Epic of Gilgamesh and the story of Samson and Delilah as if they are different myths originating from the same historical incident.
ОтветитьDon’t some speculate Gilgamesh and nimrod are one and the same person?
ОтветитьEXCELENTE NARRATIVA. SOU GRATO POR COMPARTILHAR CONOSCO OS PONTOS DE VISTA CRUZADOS COM A EPOPEIA E A BIBLIA. ESTOU LENDO E ESTUDANDO POR MIM MESMO. E ACREDITO CHEGAR NAS MESMAS OU SEMELHANTES CONCLUSÕES. SHALOM!🎉
ОтветитьI JUST LIKE THESE STORIES OF OLD .I READ THE BIBLE MOST EVERY DAY. I GET INTO THEM.
ОтветитьThe police can never regain respect from the British again
ОтветитьThis is nothing like the Bible?
ОтветитьSorry about that story is older than 2,000 years 4,000 years ago is when the scientists alleged that we built pyramids except we didn't have metal and now we have moving the stones we didn't have the tools but understanding of civilization so you have to go back pretty ice age dude epic and way the f*** older than 4,000 years that stuff listening to these morons a little broken carbon dating machine The Greeks didn't build Greece the Romans didn't build Rome and the Egyptians did not build pyramids and you know what simple facts there is to back this claim, rill erosion patterns surrounding the Sphinx says that when that happened there was a lot of water that was a hell of a lot longer than 4,000 years ago
ОтветитьI always wonder if these are etiological tales.
Like, they talk about cutting down the forest and that the gods might be mad. I wonder, did perhaps they over-log a forest and disrupt the ecosystem causing a desert?
They always talk about the Fertile Crescent, and how it was once lush but is now a desert. I wonder if they over-farmed it and depleted the soil.
I’ve heard people say that, but I don’t know if it has any truth to it at all. Could they have done that, even if they wanted to? Did they have the manpower and plow animals and all to do that? I’m not at all confident that they did; I kinda think they didn’t.
Anyway, these stories always seem to be explaining why the world is the way it is, except they add magic and monsters and super heroes and gods; cause, y’know. 2000 BCE.
Miss PIGGY from the MUPPETS voice for spoiled INANNA /Ishtar when Gilly won't give her any lol😂😂😂
ОтветитьI dont think my any means this i where the story of ADAM AND EVEA CAME from. Nice try. However, I do believe the story of Enoch, where the fallen angles did leave their station and had cross breads., which created giants. I think the reason God had to flood the world is due to the part angel, part human giants. Only Noah's blood line was not tainted by these giants.
ОтветитьInkidude is the grandfather of all Sasquatch
ОтветитьGilgamesh was the first speaker of true equality in calling out Ishtar's emotional manipulation and uselessness.
ОтветитьClassic logical fallacy to conclude that the Sumerian account of Gilgamesh was copied by the Israelites…they are actually just telling the same story.
Ответитьthe bible is God inspired not gilgsmesh
Ответитьwhat a silly lie this is
ОтветитьITS NOT GAY IF ITS CLAY!!! I had to say this
ОтветитьProbably a made up contemporary superhero, or an antediluvian nephilim / of corrupted flesh
ОтветитьAnyone else make the connection to the USA invading Iraq and the discovery of Gilgamesh and his city.
ОтветитьUmmm, it did not influence the Bible. That’s actually a lie.
