How I would learn video editing if I had to start over..

i only have like 3 hours every night to learn and start my project on editing. im using premiere pro right now and sometimes im feeling tired after work hours and unmotivated but i kept forced myself to doing it everyday. sometimes i fell asleep on my desk while editing and wake up mid night lol

bro turned it into a motivational videos instead of giving actual follow able step of learning

1. start with one platform - i will master capcut
2. emulate editor style - choose a style and master it
3. join community - you can exchange assets or figure out the answer from that community
4. stay consistent

I’m not to sure about CapCut the PC version doesn’t have much but I’ve seen a lot of Indians using their mobile phones for editing with CapCut and using effects Vfx an so forth so when I download PC CapCut I was hmm so how do I add these special effects like them to my videos 🤔 to make the videos interesting if someone has any full tutorials I would love to check it out

I am working as an editor for the past 2 years now , but i some times feel that the niche that i selected ( anime ) doesnt pay very well . Now i wana change my niche to go into such documentary or sitting down vids , however when these clients ask for my previous works i cant show them the anime vids cause those are two separate worlds , what should I do can someone pls help me .

Excellent. It is like photography. Master the camera you have. Study and mimic the photographers you admire. Practice, practice, practice with goals in mind. And yes, communicate with others with experience.

I just recently started the switch from Premiere to Davinci. I got worried at the start of the video because I saw your point. You want to have a good understanding of one program before switching. After I thought about it you actually installed some confidence in me...I feel I definitely have a solid base with Premiere. I love grading in premiere and it makes so much more sense to me...but like I said I'm very thankful I have my Premiere base. Keep it up my dude!

Come next week, I retire from my 25 year career as a Java programmer, which was my 3rd career. I taught myself Java. Then I plan on making video editing with Premier Pro my retirement gig.
