I was just there the other day and walked through the sheds and think I'm the same thing!!

my chicken coop is 8 by 8 not big enough to live in. that 10 by 16 doesnt look to bad.

Problem is the cities/towns building codes pertaining to residential living space

I've been living in a 12 x 24 behind a gas station for the past three years. It's minimal living but it works.

The problem is where to put it? Land is way expensive . Or restricted.

Land - 5,000, Septic - 18,000, Well - 30,000, Power 12,000, DIY Buildout - 2x shed purchase price, Engineered drawings - 3,000, Foundation - 6,000, Minimum square footage requirements. Rough total over 80,000. Most, if not all US counties will require these things. If people buy a shed without doing their research with the county, they are in for a RUDE awakening and a HUGE loss of money.

Tiny home communities are popular, these days. I have thought about doing this. And what is impressive is that it's a legal and legitimate way to build a small home for a retired person, or disabled person who doesn't get to go to work very often, or can only work part time and go to school.

I'm confused, if you are going to renovate it into a tiny home why bother using an expensive prebuilt?
