Sample Preparation by Ashing Method for the Analysis of Heavy Metals & Minerals Using AAS

I plan to measure ash content and then measure mineral content and also heavy metals. For heavy metals i would like to use wet digestion method. In your opinion, do i need to make a wet digestion if i already drying ash from measuring ash content before? Thanks in advance!
