I'm also just about to buy a neutral blazer and was trying to decide between a taupe and cream but you've helped me decide on the Taupe (which I think was my first choice anyway) as it will go with more in my wardrobe. I bought those white silk trousers and mine had a sheen I didn’t like and they are SO see through… I was very disappointed in them unfortunately. I had them tailored and they’re too short. So be aware if you’re interested in those. I’ve purchased so many things in the past I never received anything else see through. Just a heads up.

Not many people can afford $229 trousers, or a $149 shirt... I bought a Lilysilk shirt once, second hand but brand new, and it's not a very great quality. I was pleased not having paid the full price for it.

I love knit dresses, too, especially in white. But the off-shoulder design of that one won’t work for me, my shoulders are narrow and I have to wear conventional, strapped bras (and I just heard you mention that is has 20% nylon in it, too, bummer). If not for that shoulder design and the nylon, I would have snapped up that dress. I did get the shirtdress in the same fabric as the navy and white striped shirt, which I also got, and the white silk trousers. If anyone else needs a synthetic-free, breathable summer blazer, I just ordered a white one from Club Monaco, but haven’t received it yet. I’ve been looking for a such blazers for years, but even formerly good brands, like Ralph Lauren, are using polyester for linings now. The Club Monaco one is a linen/cotton blend with a 100% cotton lining. Banana Republic is also offering blazers lined with my favorite fabric after silk, breathable rayon, instead of poly, I’ve bought four of them! They are also shaped at the waist, and better fitting overall than those oversized ones that have been everywhere the last three years. If you haven’t looked at this brand for a while, check it out, they are using great fabrics and irresistible classic designs.

Sorry and I hate to ask but I'm trying to find those backless loafers you're wearing but can't remember the name of the website.

The LS white silk trousers run quite long, FYI. I had to pay another $40 US to have them shortened, that should be figured into the cost, or else one can get them custom-sized for free (that’s what I should have done, they’re quite tight in the waist, too, despite the back elastic, but I didn’t want to wait the month’s delivery time to San Francisco, I get their stock sizes in about a week). I do my own alterations, except for on silk garments, it is a major pain to sew, so I take them to a tailor.

I love Lily Silk, too, but they don’t use “100% natural, organic fabrics”. I recently got the new navy knit short-sleeved polo shirt and was really disappointed when I noticed that it contains 20% nylon, a synthetic (plastic) fiber. Some of their items are polyester with silk linings only. I hope they stop doing this, if they keep using synthetic fibers, I’ll stop shopping there and they have been my principal brand for years. The only reason synthetics are added to fabrics is to lower the cost, despite what manufacturers claim, they’re not needed for stretchiness, durability or anything else, those are just lame excuses. Any amount of synthetic fibers will give me an allergic skin reaction. I should have checked the fiber content online, perhaps, but they specialize in 100% silk clothing and none of the many other silk knit items I bought there contain synthetics, it just didn’t occur to me that they might. Silk knit/jersey is my favorite fabric, 100% silk, that is. My other principal brands, MM la Fleur, Silk Laundry, Banana Republic, Theory and Equipment don’t add synthetics to their silks, at least as far as I’ve seen. If Lily Silk wants to stay at that price point, they have to match that fabric quality, too.

Where’s “Our Beautiful Mum”? I want to see her in these classic pieces, too, and you two together aren’t just twice the fun, but ten times the fun!
