Optimus prime didn’t let the highguard stay because they follow Megatron

High Guards also help Megatron to attack Iacon City and they basically worshipped Megatron instead of their god Primus. They are also a big threat to all Cybertronians, hence Optimus has to banish them from Iacon to protect his fellow Cybertronians

Makes sense

Once the noble protectors of Cybertron now part of its greatest threat

So that's why Optimus Prime never let the High Guards stay after they help him to save D16 and the other High Guards but when Megatron betrays him the high guards didn't save him

Orion Pax is Naive

High guard follow strength, not justice

D-16 didn't betray Orion Pax, it was Orion Pax who betrayed D-16. he risked his own life to protect Sentinel Crime, the traitor.

Even if prime let the high guards stay,they will not follow him and instead they will follow Megatron

The high guard follows D-16/Megatron after his revenge speech on their first encounter.

Yes they helped defeat Sentinel and his followers but they also helped destroy Iacon city after D-16 kills Sentinel and takes Megatronus' transformation cog and dons the name Megatron.

Optimus knows that the High Guard follows Megatron.

In my opinion...

High Guard only followed Orion to free their captive friends. They enjoyed fights, but they never really followed D-16. They were there for him only because of Starscream, their leader who was also captured.

If they were never loyal to D-16, now Megatron, we can't expect them to be to Orion, now Optimuas Prime, who had a different method from them in rebuilding Iacon. Optimus was well aware of that, and seeing how Megatron insisted to be destructive, he decided to banish Megatron and the rowdy airplane group.

When Megatron damaged Starscream's voicebox, you can see him twisting his neck

I agree with this, more powerfull can make more destruction and more responsibility

Well, this Starscream IS absolutely unhinged, but it's not like he was stuck fighting to stay alive for 50 years before the events of the movie...I mean, it's understandable from Optimus as much as for how all the high guard is completely out of their minds.

I was thinking about the same thing about the high guards following megatron order and even though they helped to destroy sentinels disciples they now followed megatrons orders and helped him to destroy the iacon community and shockwave soundwave and starscream even helped megatron to defeat Optimus prime since he knows that the high guards already destroyed some of the iacon communities Optimus decided to kick them out just for the safety of his community mad respect 🫡 🙏

IN THE part where sentinel pins down d16 and says ' whats wrong d 16 , rise up' if u put on slow mo u can see his hand phasing into his arm cannon when he equips it idk if its an animtion error or smthing

Just like megatron, also wanted revenge against sentinel prime which led them worshipping and encouraging him to destroy Iacon. Their eyes explain their motives, behaviour, mind set and nature.

Edit: Megatron had yellow that turned from orange to red just like the high guards.

We all know what danger High Guards are: Cybersverse, Tfp, Bayverse, WFC Trilogy, WFC/FOC etc.

So the last time I watched transformers one I secretly saw that d-16's eyes change color throughout the movie when he was a minor his eyes started out as yellow but when then he transformed into cog his eyes stayed yellow, but when he's captured with bee from sentinel I saw his eyes change from yellow to orange.

And when d said to Orion pax I'm done saving you we can clearly see that his eyes turn red.

That and the High Guard attacked him.

Megatron chose to fight the newly minted Optimus Prime, and the High Guard being loyal to Megatron fought with him.

Because they might betray him

There a small change some of the high guard escape the the scene when the other attack, letting them stay in Iacon, and if we do get a TF 2 they maybe on the run, because they thought they are a threat even tho some didn’t attack.

That's interesting and I thought it was because they were loyal to Megatron

Why they don't put them in jail ?

When you find out that both mufasa and optimus prime were able to banish their brother temporary to find something to redeem themselves insteed of banished for ever or never say his name
