My 94 Indy Lite still runs good, I think I’ll keep my 14k and keep riding the old Indy.

How does the 2022 850 146 switch back assault with 2 in lug in 1.5-2inch of powder. I’m wondering because if I wanted to head out into 1 to 2 feet of new snow on the trails that have not been groomed how one of these will do in 2 feet of new snow powder? I’m new to this snowmobiling stuff. Thx

Best budget sled is the one you can afford and still have gas money.

Have you guys done any side-by-side comparisons of the 650 vs. 850 matrix. Looking to see if I still Need an 850 or is 650 more than enough. 👍👍 NY/Vermont rider.

Great Video, Luke, related to Crossovers, I recently discovered that Ski Doo has the Rapid Ski Stance Change Option , which I think is just PERFECT for Crossover segment , consider the definition of a Crossover sled, do you know if there is a third Party/aftermarket fix for this for Both Artic Cat and Polaris?

After riding a Skidoo 850 Backcountry for the last 3 seasons and now spending around 600 km on my new 22 switchback 850 XC 146 I can easily say as a true 50/50 sled the Polaris has it figured out. If you disagree you haven’t ridden a new Polaris. The only place the skidoo wins is in fuel economy. 😀

Junk all the technology in snowmobiles today came from arctic cat technology... .if it's not a cat it's just cat food. Polaris is profiting off of arctic cat technology and the mustard buckets ski doo. Arctic cat all the way.....

Is the 650 version more reliable than 850? Snowmobile industry is the only one where nobody in the media mentions reliability. My buddies with 850 Polaris sleds it’s a crap shoot if they can ride because their engines are out about half the time, crazy in modern times.

I cannot for the life of me figure out all these xc, xp, sks, assault crap with polaris. I will say I think the 650 engine running on 87 fuel is a good idea. You guys need to start testing these sleds on the steep and deep and show what they are and are not capable of or compared to a true mountain sled.

Definitely fills a market void. With the discounted price, it should be a hit with the crossover rider.

Does your definition of a crossover sled include side hilling? If so, then I sure struggle with the 42.5" ski stance. In my opinion if you buy a switchback with the intention of learning to sidehill you might be frustrated. 7 of us just got back from the UP (half Polaris and half Doo). We all feel that if you learn the technique of side hilling on a narrower stance first, you can do it with a 42.5" stance. Trying to learn at that width proved very frustrating for the folks in my group.
