CBSE Plans Open Book Exams For Classes 9-12

Much needed change. Students can focus on applying the concept instead of memorizing them.

This video discusses the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) mulling to introduce open book exams for classes 9 to 12. The pilot project is being aimed for the end of this year. Experts believe this will have some positive impact like reducing stress on students and minimizing unfair practices like cheating but they also say that due to lack of infrastructure it will require at least 5 to 8 years to implement it. Parents also raise concerns that it might be limiting for children.

Instead of open book exam CBSE should allow the use of calculator at least for 11-12th students

That means cheating in exam is becoming legal in modi raj

Good idea for open book exam by CBSE board. Understanding the subject matters and not memorising the subject . CBSE is the best board for students . I hope CBSE will soon implement open book exams. Everything is available in the internet. Understanding the subject only matters

This is not the way to control memorization. Student will not be serious for their exam and study

Board first needs to prepare exam papers that kids can crack..no use of setting papers where kids cant score marks n then giving them grace marks of 7 or 5 or 3 which dont substitute the marks they would have scored if the question was answerabke

Cbse schools cant provide teachers to teach to teach basic concepts...imagine the plight of kids with open book system

People think open book exam would be very easy.but that fact is the students must know hook and corner of ncert only then they can answer each questions properly...
