I killed them last fall at Blue Springs 2 days on the Gulp minnow.

Use a 1/8th ounce white jig head with the 3" if you want to catch the 5 pounders.

Gulp minnows are all I use now with jighead 1/8 oz in River and 1/4 oz in a lake.

I rig them with size 8 treble hooks and 20'' leader under flasher for landlocked kings in central cali

These are a good lure but tear easy and end up in the water much of the time. An environmental concern for sure. Berkley changed their formula and I'm not sure if its because they want to sell more or they biodegrade sooner than their old formula but I cringe everytime I lose one in a river.

I use a 1/32 jig and slightly jerk it back or just retrieve it back, killer bait. I catch small 10" to 20" plus with that 2 1/2 inch minnow.
