I want to do this with our acre of grass in upstate NY, but discouraged due to fighting an army of moles, and the dandelions in the spring in my area are insane. Seems like the perfect place to farm them for mass production.
ОтветитьI’ve been watching your videos lately, I’m going to be launching my Lawn & home exterior care business here pretty soon. Like I’m at ground level, I really thank you for this video! My business name is Hedge Hunters Lawn & Home services. My goal is to take my customers lawns and do exactly this!! So I’m here watching your video!! This is amazing!
ОтветитьWhen I use tenacity to kill to weed, how long do I wait , so I can start doing Aerate ?
ОтветитьBangin property!!
ОтветитьMan you even made the trees greener! 🤩 please tell me its not just a filter
ОтветитьSo with all these steps, how many weeks does this usually take?
ОтветитьThanks for making this video! I think I’ve found my home. I have a few questions will the tenacity also get rid of moss? I have an area with moss and weeds/clovers.
Second question after aeration and putting grass seed how do you know if you should put starter fertilizer or regular fertilizer?
My Sheep really liked this
ОтветитьCan you use tenacity in a flower bed?
ОтветитьThank you for the tips
ОтветитьAfter using tenacity and the weeds are dead and everything is white…do I pull up all of the dead, white weeds or do I go right into aeration with leaving the white weeds where they are?
ОтветитьSo should I dethater the yard to get the hay away or just aerate
ОтветитьThis is what my texas bermuda grass looks like right now. I'm trying to fix it but I want to start in spring.
ОтветитьThis was very helpful! My lawn and landscaping beds got away from me this year so I’m trying to end the season on a high note.
ОтветитьOr buy a sprinkler system
ОтветитьFollowing this video .. hope I get great results! Wish there was a way we can add before and after pics
ОтветитьGrass is one of the most common and recognizable plants in the world. It is a member of the Poaceae family, which includes over 10,000 species of grass, ranging from short, dense blades to tall, feathery stalks. Grass is found in nearly every corner of the globe, from the prairies of North America to the savannas of Africa.
One of the defining characteristics of grass is its narrow, elongated leaves. These leaves can range in color from light green to dark green, depending on the species of grass and the environment in which it grows. They are often arranged in dense clumps, creating a lush carpet of green that covers the ground.
Grass is also known for its fibrous roots, which anchor it in the soil and absorb nutrients and water. These roots can be incredibly long and deep, reaching down into the earth to find the resources that the plant needs to survive. Because grass is so efficient at nutrient uptake, it is able to grow quickly and cover large areas of land.
Grass is a resilient plant, able to adapt to a wide variety of environmental conditions. It can grow in areas with poor soil quality, extreme temperatures, and limited water. In fact, grass is often one of the few plants that can survive in these harsh environments, making it a crucial part of many ecosystems.
Despite its hardy nature, grass can also be incredibly delicate and intricate. The individual blades of grass are often decorated with tiny veins and ridges, creating a complex pattern that is both beautiful and functional. These intricate details are often overlooked, but they are a testament to the remarkable complexity of the natural world.
Grass also has a number of ecological benefits. Because it covers the ground and absorbs water, it can help prevent erosion and runoff. It also helps to trap carbon dioxide, which can help mitigate the effects of climate change. In addition, grass can provide food and shelter for a wide variety of animals, including insects, birds, and mammals.
In conclusion, grass is a remarkable plant that is both ubiquitous and underappreciated. Its narrow, elongated leaves and fibrous roots are adapted to absorb nutrients and water, allowing it to grow quickly and cover large areas of land. Despite its hardy nature, grass can also be incredibly delicate and intricate, with intricate patterns and details that are often overlooked. Whether in a suburban lawn or a sprawling savanna, grass is a vital component of many ecosystems around the world, providing food, shelter, and beauty for all who live there.
What weedeater are using in this video
ОтветитьThis is exactly what I needed. My lawn here in Houston is just dead, burnt, crunchy and bare spots. We've had zero rain almost all summer. My lawn needs help and I had no idea what to do. Definitely trying this.
ОтветитьThis is disgustingly rich people problems and solutions
ОтветитьSoo. I live in Connecticut do i still follow the rules in that order?
ОтветитьWhere did you buy the weed killer tenacity’s from?
ОтветитьGreat instructions
ОтветитьMark your sprinklers before aerating! So you don't end up with blown out heads or those marks he had on his sprinklers!
ОтветитьThanks for getting to the point without pushing products and going off in tangents
ОтветитьMy guess is that you live near the NH/MA border. Up in the Claremont, NH area we cannot get the results you show. It's mostly farm land and hay fields up here. I have yet to see even one manicured lawn even close to resembling what you show. To condition the soil to that condition would cost a lot of money and I mean a lot of money! Would it be nice? Definitely but, not with this economy!
ОтветитьFertilizer is made from natural gas, some chicken droppings and bay guano. Best "Phosphates" have been removed. Too bad as it creates a more robust root system. Home improvement stores sell but you have to be sneaky. Trees, scrubs, bushes and others have a 10-10-10 fertilizer being sold. Look for it and ask by saying I have bushes that need a different fertilizer. The cost to farmers has skyrocketed if they can get it. Many use anhydrous ammonia in a tank are being pulled behind a knife and tractor that places into the soil open about 3" or 4" if not to many rocks. I hope you don't have tons of bats as like birds, effect car/truck paint. But guano has a strong ammonia smell. I have no room in my budget for a de-thatcher or power core-plug equipment at new is $4,500 so run for an hour from rental stores and way to fast without a heart attack, but no discount for medical. The best seed comes from the university of Oregon test fields that grow roots down for water & sideways to fill in. RTF Water Saver fescue has worked good. Deep root system and dark green color, sold at Home Depot in 2023 for $43 to get a 10 pound bag. They run out so may have to order. This is 400 sq. ft. (So 20 X 20 foot area maybe more. I could have looked it up wrong) Benefits; It transitions well thru climate zones and well in Northern areas. I am not endorsing a seller or product, just results I have seen.
Great before and after video. Many wouldn't take this time. Thanks!
- [ ] Fall is the best time of year for lawn rejuvenation. When temps drop into the 80's
- [ ] Weed control - Tenacity kills the weeds not the grass
- [ ] Rent a Plug Aerator
- [ ] Broadcast spread over seed the lawn
- [ ] Apply a starter fertilizer w/ broadcast speader
- [ ] Water the lawn at least 2-3 times a day
- [ ] Stay off the lawn and don't mow the lawn for the first 4 weeks
- [ ] Bag the clippings for the first month or so of mowing to prevent clogging the aeration plugs
- [ ] Get a new blade for your lawn mower
- [ ] 8 weeks - lawn is established..t once at least once a week 2.5-3.5"
- [ ] fertilize every 6-8 weeks during the mowing season
Thanks. If I have weeds and don’t want to use chemicals, and it’s hot and dry and I Cain only run the sprinklers once daily(bc only not windy at 4am) (Maui, Hi) but lawn is still dry, should I remove the weeds and fill bare spots with EZ Seed now, even though I likely won’t water extra now? Or should I wait until rainy season to fill bare spots, or even wait rainy season to remove weeds even?
Also, What’s the harm in mowing infrequently and letting grass be too long? Thanks.
Thanks for all the helpful advice. I've been trying to get our lawn in shape for years, but have had mixed success. I'm using fully organic methods, which has some major pluses (great for pollinators and environment in general. Safer for humans too.) but also a couple minuses (organic weed killers don't work great in all situations which means the best method seems to be manually removing them, which is very time intensive.). I did some research on Tenacity, and although it was granted a 'reduced-risk' status by the EPA, my research also indicated it could be potentially harmful to pollinators, which makes me really nervous to use it. You mentioned in the video that you would wait 4 weeks before doing the first mow, was that after overseeding in the fall? This would put me into October (I live in New England too). In the video, it looked like it was still summer time for you. Should I expect my overseeded grass to sprout and really start to fill in in the fall or will in happen more the following spring? Thanks for any advice you can offer.
ОтветитьThank you from România
ОтветитьWe have crawl grass how do we get rid of that first?
ОтветитьLooks great. I have zoysia grass, and they are supposed to be very resilient and drought tolerant, but as soon as we don't get a rain for a week or two it starts turning tsnnish brown. I'm trying to figure out why. Also it obviously goes dormant in the winter and turns completely Brown, and in the summer or the green grass comes back through but I can still see the brown grass like dispersed through it and underneath of it. It's like it never goes away and it's kind of unsightly if you look really close at it. People recommend zoysia but I don't think I would. It's such a prolific grass though I don't think I could just seed and replace it, I think I would have to kill the lawn and strip it. Sigh...maybe next year
Ответитьwhy are people obsessed with lawns?
ОтветитьI just recently build my very 1st home! My yard looks horrible and my neighbors ehh okay way better than mines. Coming across this video I know my grass will soon stand out. Im ready for the transformation. Wow and we are coming up on September😊 😊
ОтветитьGood video for established lawns.
ОтветитьHow long do we have to wait after spraying Tenacity to aerate the lawn
ОтветитьAll grasses produce seeds that are monocotyledonous, which means that each seed produces only one leaf sprout. Additionally, most grasses are herbaceous, so they don't produce woody stems, and they die back to the ground at the end of the growing season. Grasses are invaluable assets to our planet and its inhabitants.
ОтветитьI am going to try tenacity. I have tried using Scott's products and after seeing the difference in the front of my lawn (using weed products from Scott's) and the back (far fewer weeds/didn't put anything on it), the Scott's isn't doing much for the weeds and it's definitely harming my grass.
ОтветитьQuestion on timing: Why the fall and not early spring? I also live in the northeast (NH), and by the time September comes around, I pretty much slow frequency of mowing anyway because the grass already stops growing as much and conditions only get worse as the days go on. Tons of leaves fall, it gets colder and colder everyday, there's less sunlight everyday, and frost or snow can often show up in October and definitely November.
If the plan in this video is to aerate, put new seeds to grow, and have good conditions for growing for multiple weeks/months, fall seems like the worst choice logically to me. What am I missing?
I Hate Cutting Grass...
ОтветитьGreat video! What's the time interval between spraying weed killer and aerating/seeding?
ОтветитьVery informative video! Thanks!! But I do have one question. How do you know which fertilizer mix to buy? You had 7-1-0 in video then showed 16-0-8 and 18-0-12. I’ve never cared for lawn before and have no clue
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьDo you just zap the weeds in the fall? Or zap weeds, aerate, and do a seeding in the fall? Just wondering. In the Midwest a lot of people tend to aerate and seed in the spring.
ОтветитьThank you so much for these absolutely helpful tips.
ОтветитьIs this for cool weather grass or warm weather grass?
ОтветитьEXCELLENT video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.
