after shutting down the mac i hold the power button and it turns on but turns off within a second of being on. am i doing something wrong?

After I finish redownloading Ventura, it tells me to choose a disk but then shows no options... so then I have to quit and start again. I'm not sure if I incorrectly deleted the disk or something
