If Russia wanted to take over Ukraine they would not have bombed so many civilian targets that they just had to rebuild. I strongly believe Russia want to wipe out Ukraine and are spinning the message that this is getting rid of ex nazi horrible people to drum up support for the war. If Russia nuked Ukraine to the point it created an unpassable nuclear barrier between them and the west and stopped any nato bases being constructed I do think that's a win win for Russia. If they can't win a war this would solve their problems why wouldn't they do it
