QuickBooks Desktop: Basic Inventory Purchase and Receiving Workflow

My issue that im having is that when i order materials, they require 50% deposit and 50% before shipping. So i am creating a purchase order, and need to pay a bill for that purchase order without receiving inventory, then have to receive inventory from that bill at a later date. Sometimes it will come in partial shipments

Can you do inventory / cogs journal entry for ecommerce please?
