The Fitzgerald one was wrong
It was hit by one of the hurricanes wave
It went underwater then the middle of the boat just broke into two pieces and the stern went upside down

My grabdfather was in the navy and the merchant marines and he told me about several he encountered during WW2 in the North Atlantic. He said the only thing that saved them was experience and the size of the ships. A lot of people did not believe him until the 90s when scientific evidence of the phenomenon started being documented. He also said they were common in the North Atlantic and Africa. He was only ever afraid of the sea when they were stalked by submarines and encounters with these waves

Always aggravates me don’t listen to the experience people who do that for a living every day listen to the non-experienced scientist, who think they’re smarter, and that their intelligence supersedes witnesses. It’s absolutely nuts, the arrogance, an ego of people.

This video is a collection of nonsense claims about that science didn't know or didn't accept this and that. The reality ...it was very well known.
How difficult can it be to do a minimum of reality check before publishing this kind of video. ....and ...as always English speakers can not pronounce any name in another language correct. It would take you about 5 sec to find out that the name of the ship München does NOT equal Munken. If foreigner started to twist every name in English speaking world there would be a lot of noise.......

The freak waves are nothing new to anyone spending time in the oceans or seas. Most are formed by wave amplification and cancellation. They can be very unpredictable. We have a local 50 to 100 meter square section of water that can throw up waves 3 times the height of the surrounding swells. It is caused by ocean swells meeting from 2 different directions. To make it even more tricky the 2 sets of ocean waves bounce off of a deep rock cliff edge in the deep ocean. It can look almost smooth and choppy one moment and suddenly high waves and troughs the next. Fortunately they are not large and on calm day a 1/2 meter swell will throw up a 1.5 meter wave. Unfortunately freak storm squalls are also common making an uncomfortable swell of 1.5 meters throw up 4.5 meter waves out of nowhere. Most local s know about it and are prepared or avoid the area.
We have other local ocean features that create waves in a different way to the above with similar amplified waves but they tend to be more predictable.

When you see the wave:

Your in the Bermuda Triangle and then a huge wave comes at you sweeping off all of the boat boxes and boats get ripped off.
You try to swim faster but the wave is to fast and then you get sweeped by the wave forces and the last boat rips off due to the forces of the wave.
The wave now reached the boat and your boat has ripped, your head feels ripped to,but some how,it’s still on you…
The wave has now caught the first coral form the forces and the wave has gone a little bigger and has more force, now the wave has passed the whole ship, you see a row boat and it gets swept faster then your huge iron boat that you payed 100,000,$ on,they said NO refund, that row boat costed 12$.
WHY DID YOU GO TO THE BERMEDA TRIANGLE
WHY DID YOU SPEND 100.000$ ON A HUGE IRON SHIP
WHY DO YOU EVEN HAVE A LOW PAYING JOB (fisherman with net)
and last…why did that guy buy a 12$ row boat…he could buy a speed boat…
Flordia is a little part of the Bermuda Triangle, this fisherman was going there

Been fishing/diving the Gulf of Mexico off Louisiana 100s of times im 60 now
Once on a 40ft boat hooked to a shipwreck for the day/night in the evening it was unusually glass calm
I notice an 8ft wave coming broadside. Boat handled it well but no following waves behind it. This was the strangest thing ive ever seen

When first seeing this (no large seax experience) I thought of this as something natural. Should be that sea holds thousands or hundreds of thousands of individual washes moving at different frequency, sometimes many of these amplify each other. There should be these happening every now and then, becoming horrific when it happens to a boat ⛵😱
