Ghost leviathans are territorial. Stay away from them and they'll stay away from you.
Reaper leviathans are predatory. You have to swing WIIDDEE to avoid them XD

pro tip you dont have to use the knife to kill these things. In the safe shallows the 'farting manatees' drop gas pods that you can put in your inventory theyre the thing that explode to create a gas cloud thatll kill you. If you manage to get an inventory full of them you even kill a sea dragon leviathan by putting them in stasis and dropping all the gas pods from your inventory next to their face. You'll essentially be committing a warcrime but im fairly certain that the geneva convention doesnt exist on 4546b so have fun😂

Believe it or not but the leviathan with the most amount of Health was the ghost leviathan with 8000 hp while the reaper leviathan and sea dragon has 5000 hp

There should be achievements for doing this due to the skill and braveness it takes also because all achievements are achievements you get no matter what and there is no challenge to get them which defeats the purpose of them being achievements because for me a achievements is something you work hard on accomplishing and not just playing the game

I killed the same ghost leviathan just a few days ago. I used the prawn suit with the grapple arm and the drill arm. I could just stick to him and deal constant damage with the drill.

killed a ghost leviathan recently for the first time after it started attacking my cyclops, heres some tips to how to do it properly-

1. approach the ghost leviathan and have your stasis rifle ready, dont use it when hes not looking at you.
2. once he starts to approach you, hold down the rifle for as long as you can and aim directly at the head, it should release on it own
3. once you get him frozen, get exactly 25 hits from the thermoblade in
4. after the 25 hits, go back just a bit and charge up the rifle directly at the head
5. repeat

it should take you ~8 times if you do it correctly

If anyone playing below zero is annoyed by shadow leviathans, its SUPER easy to kill them even with just an unmodified prawn suit. You can just sorta stand on their head until they eventually ram themselves into a corner, and then you just keep punching them for 2 minutes. It takes like 15-30 minutes to find and kill every one on the map.

the normal prawn suit arm actually deals more damage per second to enemies than the drill arm. i killed 4 reapers using the prawn suit and grappling hook lol

I am not scared off leviathans when i out of my seamoth or prawn im just scared when im in them because they can destroy

and a hack i found about the ghost leviathan you can actually swim near its right horn and it wont agro on you

I recommend getting your transport close to the leviathan, since they all need 250 survival knife hits to die (around 200 thermoblade hits) oxygen exists, so i reccomend getting seamoth or prawn or even cyclops (i dont reccomend taking cyclops) so you can breathe

Shot so far away from the creature you always missed on your first attempt, defiantly had to wait for the creature to get closer lol

I find the stasis knife method to be an incredibly slow and boring method of killing leviathans. I much prefer the risk and thrill of the prawn suit upgraded with a grappling hook to latch onto the monster’s back and either drill or punch it to death, occasionally backing off to repair the suit if the leviathan ever gets a bite on me.

Kinda feel sorry for the Ghost Leviathan.. looks majestic and not really as hostile as the others. More like "I won't mess with you if you don't mess with me". Had easy and safe passages through Lost River with GL around

Best way to kill each leviathan:

Ghost: lost river ones the prawn since they have an enclosed space so its harder for them to run, ones that have a bigger space like grand reef and blood kelp stasis, gas pods and knife

Reapers: good ol' stasis, gas pod, and knife will make it so they cant run

Sea dragon: Prawn suit only (w/ regular hand it actually does more dps) because thermoknife doesn't do any damage and regular knife is painfully slow + the enclosed area makes it so its harder for them to run, too

The second I got the stasis rifle I started killing all leviathans

I remember I killed the chicilerete in below zero but I have a base in the crystal cave but I like the shadow leviathan there he’s my pet I named him noir
And in regular subnautica in my creative world I got a void ghost leviathan into the safe shallows he became my pet too

here's a tip against reapers. not sure if it works against other leviathans but get gasopod things then stasis rifle a reaper and spam drop a bunch of them on it. probably around 15 to 20 of the gasopod things. kills them within 20 seconds easily

Imagine evolving for millions of years to be a 100 foot long apex killing machine and you get prison shanked to death by some tiny creature💀

Even when you take out all three Hostile Leviathans, they respawn at a later time. At least, that's been my experience. But I do have a question for you. You know it will take some time to kill one or all of these Leviathans, so why don't you prepare yourself simply by taking two ultra tanks and a couple of fresh batteries. This way, you don't need to retreat every 90 seconds.

I recently lost a Seamoth to a reaper..

Suffice it to say, every surface leviathan is now dead in that save file.

The reaper leviathan is just so terrifying. I actually think the ghost leviathan and sea king look cool but the reaper makes me nervous to go into any biome with even 1 in it

You made that Sea Dragon fight way harder than it had to be.

1. I find it much easier to fight it without the drill arm, the normal arm is much better for damage.

2. Use your thrust during battle to stay in the dragon's stomach.

Pro tip: the best way to kill leviathan is by using this gas orbs from gas monster in safe shallows it does so much damage to them

There are 25 reapers in the game i believe. But only 6 in areas youd want to visit

I think I'm going to try to kill as many leviathans as I can so I can explore a little more peacefully. At least I'm going to try, dunno if I will succeed but by God I will try! 🐉💥🗡️

I would have used gas pods instead of the knife

The sea mech is the best weapon to kill all three easily.
