It's completely stupid. People float due to air in their lungs and not fat.

I'm just average gym goer and not even super low body fat but I have noticed the same. Swimming with my gf she can float with no problem but I cannot. Of course I'm not sinking as fast as the man in the video, but still not able to float generally speaking

This is the first time I've heard this but it makes perfect sense. I never understood why I couldn't float, since young my body barely held fat and I always thought I've just been doing it wrong, if I don't swim I just sink. My body fat stays around 8% year round

Btw, everyone can sink if there's no air in their lungs. And the proof is that the first guy float and the part of his body that got higher was the zone where his lungs are located!!

Not a body builder I’m 220 on a good day with decent legs but kinda noodles for arms and while not as severe as my friend who works out everyday I Sink down a decent amount as well
