I'm getting ready to upgrade my 36 gallon bow front to a 46 gallon bow front and want to do angelfish how many would be a good amount for a tank that size

I had a 120"x28"x36" 19mm(double Base) display tank and a 108"x20"x24" 10mm reservoir built on site at home by Seabray.... Took about 40 tubes of silicone sealant.
I installed a Sanders Helgoland skimmer and a TMC centralised filtration system myself in the next room.
I agree that too many people in the wrong place is more of a hindrance, You guys did superbly well.

plants breathe out oxygen MD they dont use it up in a tank, they pearl, thats why adding co2 helps them. idk why you had gasping for too many plants? @MDFishTanks

These are called Koi anglefish here in Norway.
And mine leaves the cardinals alone. But I've lost a few smaller regular neon tetras that was bought. Not full adults and not sure what the intentions of the big angelfish is 😂

cardinal can live 10 years, also- instead of cardinals, silver tips or lemons would be great in there too

you can keep smaller fish with angels generally if you put the small fish in first and then introduce angels afterwards your introducing angels into the say cardinals territory rather than food into the angels territory ive never had it be a problem
manacapuru super red angels would have worked or even better santa isabella red backs like manacapurus and often sold as them but have red eyes and a far more irridecent body colouring reflecting the colours around them in the tank brilliantly,

If I bake the wood in the oven before putting it into the tank would that stop the biofilm from growing?

not sure why i though "black water" means you put botanical boiled water in to make it "darker" not only darker wood and painted back panel, nonetheless the tank looks gorgeous and it gives me an idea for my next tiny tank with tiny tetras, cardinal and black tetras similar to this, with much less wood and i loved the red theme with the plants so I'm stealing that one too. thanks for the idea and loved the video.

Those biofilm on wood is the perfect food source for clean up crews. Amanos cherries etc

Next time consider adding these clean up crews to eat up all the biofilm. And increase your surface agitation, position your lily pipes nearer to the surface would help tremendously..

I was really hoping to see some Red Devil Angels as i've never seen that before. Still haven't sadly, but those are some very pretty Koi Angels

Why not rinse and wash your sand before adding it to the tank to avoid that much powder fine debris and avoid numerous water changes from the tank? As for the wood, tannins will keep seeping as you know sometimes for over a year but boil your wood first and you'll not only remove the majority of the tannins but also get less if any wood fungus as well. Not sounding like a know it all, I just used to own a fish wholesale company and have done hundreds of these. Everyone has their own techniques though... Just sayin~
