Am I crazy to not like the screen?! I know it's part of the "charm" I suspose...but at $200 you'd think they'd at least give ya the option for a backlit screen, right?
ОтветитьBought one just to be able to play Lucas Pope's next game.
ОтветитьPOOR GAME
Ответитьhonestly playdate is for smart ppl that's why i don't have one lol
ОтветитьWe want Oled screen, but black and white
Can it run DOOM
ОтветитьI like games where they make do with limitations and innovative around it. There's a charm to it that no other modern games has
ОтветитьThe worst about the playdate is a design flaw in the yellow handle on the crank and Panic being the seller, not Teenage Engineering. They don't have their hardware sales and repair channels functioning. The crankle grip is like a single yellow piece of plastic with a hole to hold the screw, yet they don't manage to fix the cracking issue with it nor make it easy to order a bag of 100 replacement handles for 10 bucks.
ОтветитьYeah, but there support sucks… 😢 I tried to contact them several times and they never responded…
ОтветитьCan it read ebooks?
ОтветитьI bought a Miyoo Mini Plus from China for only $27 shipped and it's a million times better than this.
ОтветитьYou'd have to be a moron to purchase this device at the same price as a switch lite... Even more so to charge that.
Ответитьfor $200 and no back lit is wild
Ответить200$ with all the games that come out in the lifespan, for free is a big maybe....?
Ответитьfor $200?????? WTF
ОтветитьI would probably be sold on it if the crank had force feedback.
ОтветитьYou can get a used fire tablet, with a 10 inch screen, that can wirelessly go online, and emulate up to PSP, PS1, and N64, for less than 35 bucks. It can also bluetooth, if you don't want to use onscreen controls. And you can put microSD cards in it, to LOAD it with games, comics, ebooks, pictures, and movies. That gets you up to like.. 150, after tax, for the best controller and a 256gig micro. Who the hell would spend 200 on this gimmick?
ОтветитьScreen looks like these very cheap e-book screens, whatever it is it has a lot of character
Ответитьi would buy it BUT its either this or a guitar and im sorry i wana get laid so guitar wins plus i miss playing the guitar from high school days XD
ОтветитьThis should be 100$ max. Asking 200$ for this is too much in the age of mobile devices with plenty of simple & complex free games.
Ответитьill stick with my anbernic
Ответить200USD with 400 games feel fair enough. but 200USD for device only is just crazy.
Ответить200$ ¿?! what the hell?!?!?
ОтветитьThe two bizarre decisions:
1. 1bpp screen, not nultiple shades of grey
2. No backlight
make this absolutely bozarre, especially for two HUNDRED dollars...
$200. An Evercade super pocket with 2 carts is $100. They are killing their own product with that price tag wtf 😂
ОтветитьTE made this, right? Total waste, like most of their products. Just my two cents.
ОтветитьThis reminds me of pebble watches
ОтветитьHm what ass shaking from the cyclist hmmm
ОтветитьGaming in the 80s and 90s was hard and took skill but was the new entertainment... internet and tablets that was more entertaining and less interaction kids got stupid and games dumbed down to regrab kids wanting it over adults not buying garbage ...
so the lag in brains can't play the simplest skilled game so it's back to atari like junk to make kids gamers before the adults die off and nobody's buying anything thay takes thinking
as cool as this is I fail to see a $200 value in what is essentially one of those $20 400 in 1 handhelds with a crank attached to the side. For $200 you can buy a used iPhone and play cod mobile instead.
ОтветитьI think, its a good idea, but the crank should be used whit the buttons more, not just separetly. Good idea, but needs some mor inspiration.
ОтветитьWell i was interested till i saw the price don't get me wrong i can afford it ,but don't see how it can cost that much even 100 could be more sense ,but still it's way too much they losing pontential clients by a lot
Ответитьis it worth the price tag?
ОтветитьI've also had mine for about a year, and am still surprised by the creativity of the community of developers producing games for the device. Having such a low bar for developing has led to a fantastic array of titles in a broad spectrum of genres. Lots of action games that take advantage of the crank, for sure. But also a ton of immersive, story-driven adventures, beautiful puzzlers, side-scrollers, and games there's no category for. And the best part is almost none of the titles cost more than $12, with some of my favorites being absolutely free. It's my go to game system for traveling, regardless of how weird I must look cranking away at a little yellow box on the train.
Ответить200$ 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
ОтветитьThat's barely worth $20. Which is unfortunate because I'm guessing it costs substantially more just for them to make it.
I'd rather go buy a used GameCube for that money. And I don't think they even cost that.
I wouldn't spend more than 40 for something like this
ОтветитьI mean, for 200 dollars you can get yourself a realllllly decent retro handheld.
ОтветитьLike someone mentioned, the lack of RGB (color) is probably the downfall of this device at $200 pricepoint.
ОтветитьClub Penguin Minigames: The Handheld
ОтветитьHow could screen that small don't even have backlight for $200 lmao
ОтветитьI agree completely on the backlight. That was the main reason I upgraded my gameboy advance to an SP was because it had a backlight. And the thing is, it was optional. You could press a button to turn the backlight on and off. Looked just fine in daylight and then in a pinch I could use the backlight. Way better than the stupid ass lamp attachment with separate batteries I had to attach to my gameboy advance to use it in the dark.
ОтветитьI think it looks like a neat little device. I wanted one when it was announced, but wasn't sure about spending that much money on it. Which now... is an absolute considering the price has gone up.
ОтветитьLooking at the Playdate you realise how boring and samey devices have become. Look at all the unique concepts the developers came up with! I wish that this concept would be expanded on. Not just a crank, but also sliders, rotary knobs, microphones, temp sensors, programmable keypads, etc. There are so many options besides buttons and joysticks.
